Inspiration

Karina and Joel added their Australian and Latin vibes to a former Victorian pub in Dalston, with a stylish Grace Loves Lace wedding dress, BBQ wedding breakfast and oodles of fresh foliage decor. The intimate city celebration was everything they'd hoped it would be and more, bringing both their families together from all over the world to rejoice in their matrimony.

What Made Our Day Unique

I am from Panama and Joel is from Australia and we not only wanted to express our different cultures, but we really wanted to organise our own wedding with our friends and family in a very cosy and relaxed way. What made it unique was to spend time together setting it up, having a good time and then looking around at our wedding realising what we created on our special day with the people we love. The best moment of our day was that moment when we finally sat down for our meal and looked around to see our family and friends who'd travelled from many countries celebrating our love and new beginning (the mix and beauty of so many different cultures united to celebrate love).

Inspiration & Styling

The vibe of our day was for it to be a small and intimate day between dear friends and family. We wanted the colour and fun of a Panamanian party, but laid back and relaxed like an Australian BBQ. We placed two long tables and it just felt like a nice and intimate dinner with the ones we love. We have the most talented and creative bunch of mates, so the decorations, music, flowers, cocktails, wine, cake, photography and in general awesomeness was all basically curated and executed by us and all of our beautiful friends.

Real bride Karina advises: "When planning your nuptials don't think about what people expect or compare it to what others do but let the day portray what you are and like, whether it's creative, simple, laidback or elegant, enjoy your day, things will never be perfect but those are the things you will remember and laugh about in the future."
