If you dream of your big day in pastel tinted tones, then look no further: this country tipi wedding is perfection. Shot with Sarah-Jane Ethan's sublime signature style, this stunning catalogue of captures details a wedding weekend that has it all: a breathtaking priory with petal-lined altar, hanging flower installation,, dreamy DIY touches including a macramé arch - and two miniature schnauzer ring bearers in burgundy bow ties to match the groom. Step this way for a magical summer celebration (washed down with wine shipped over from the couple's favourite vineyards in Australia. Cheers!).

Wedding Styling With Macrame Arch And Hanging Flower Installation

Our colour scheme was blush pastels, white and copper with lots of macramé, terrariums and succulents. To fit in with the woodland setting of Brinkburn Priory we wanted the tipi to feel like a magical forest and had the beams covered in greenery and fairy lights. To avoid an overly ‘done’ look we had a mixture of table decorations; some tables had copper terrariums with succulents, moss and little wax flowers, whilst other had high vases with beech, eucalyptus foliage and hanging tea lights. The main event was a long plank above the top table with hanging flowers suspended from their stems alongside trailing ribbons and glass orbs. Flowers were such an important part of my wedding vision and Christine from Lavenders Blue was utterly brilliant. We also wanted to add as many personal elements as possible throughout the day and my dad made the most beautiful wedding arch which we hung with macramé and decorated with flowers. It looked beautiful and we were able to use it in the priory during the ceremony and then move it to the tipi terrace for the afternoon. - Rachael & David

Country Tipi Wedding at Brinkburn Priory

Brinkburn Priory was the first place we visited and, despite looking at most venues in the northeast, we found ourselves comparing everything to it. It ticked so many boxes: rural, weekend hire, accommodation on site, plenty of outdoor space and a tipi. It’s the most magical setting with the 12th-century priory, manor house and tipi all tucked together in a bend in the river Coquet. The fact it was ours for three days meant we were able to share the whole weekend with our loved ones - including, importantly, hosting a recovery BBQ on Sunday!

Everything about Rachael and David's big day is bang on, though I must say I have a real soft spot for the hanging floral installation. It is, in a word, sensational. Did you also spy the copper hoop table plan? Bride Rachael made this herself - in between busy shifts working as a doctor - and there is no reason why you can't follow suit. We love hoops over here at RMW, and this DIY tutorial will help you get your craft on.
