Inspiration

A stunning fusion wedding over two days, with the traditional English wedding on day one followed by a spectacular Hindu wedding ceremony on day two! The soft tones and romantic lighting of the traditional English day were a complete contrast to the vibrant bright colourful celebration that followed. And of course, two wedding days meant two outfits for our bride and groom and they looked amazing in both! A Suzanne Neville wedding dress was the first outfit for the bride followed by an amazing red and gold detailed traditional Indian wedding dress for celebration number two! Bright wedding flowers, Hindu wedding traditions and two families and cultures coming together made this day (or two!) one to remember!

WHAT MADE OUR DAY UNIQUE

"As a couple from different backgrounds, we wanted to celebrate both of our cultures and we were lucky enough to be able to do this over two days at The Elvetham. Our first day was the “classic” English wedding which allowed me to experience my white dress and walking down the aisle with my father. On our second day, we celebrated our Hindu marriage in a beautifully colourful and musical way. We wanted to make the most of the Summer feel and decided that we would focus on “strawberry”, “lemon” and “orange” for our colour theme." - Nicola & Arpit

Hindu Wedding Ceremony

The Hindu ceremony was bright and bold! From the red and gold outfits, to the amazing entrance of the groom with drummers and trumpets playing as friends and family danced around him. The ceremony included lots of traditions including the exchanging of flower garlands and was followed by delicious Indian street food and a Bollywood dance masterclass! Such a colourful, vibrant celebration!

INSPIRATION & STYLING

"After our civil ceremony, our guests gathered outside for our confetti shots. It was followed by our champagne, canapes and taking our group shots around the garden squares. Our wedding breakfast was so colourful and romantically lit with candles, we named our tables after some of our favourite flowers. We were so excited to offer a fully vegan menu to our guests on both days and have a pouch of metal straws for each guest to take home. To make both wedding days feel a bit different, we used pale pink fabric napkins for the “Western” day and vibrant orange fabric napkins for the “Indian” day. We also used different stationary on both days as well to bring out the best of both cultures – a soft grey calligraphy style followed by a colourful look with elephants. Our cake matched our colour scheme and was a three-tier vegan lemon cake. We also offered vegan macarons, vegan baklava and some sweet paan (betel leaf with coconut)." - Nicola & Arpit
