Inspiration

Need a reason to smile today? (There's no place for politics on this blog, but you know what we're talking about.) Dive right into this Norfolk wedding, which is a whole lot of happiness to finish your week off right. Bride and groom, Emily and Adi, do not stop laughing, from the minute they start getting ready (complete with a bunch of bridesmaids pouring prosecco down Emily's neck!) to the showdown of their first dance. Little wonder, really, when you're getting wed at a venue as cool as Voewood, and when you look as gorgeous as Emily does in your long-sleeved Ivania Pronovias wedding dress. From the greys and the golds to the dahlias and the dancing, this wedding is everything we love. And we know you will too.

Styling

As Voewood was so eclectic and full of amazing artwork and artefacts, the styling had to be simple and classic so as not to overload. I have an obsession with styling and loved the opportunity to execute some of my ideas, plumping for clean, crisp lines and minimal colour throughout the day. My florist and friend, Amy from Jam Jar Flowers, suggested lots of different types of eucalyptus – including autumn, nicolii and parvi – for a variety of tones and textures, and we went for cool, concrete single stem vessels on the tables to finish things off.

Ivania Pronovias Wedding Dress

No wonder all eyes are on the bride when the wedding gown is this gorgeous. Bearing more than a slight resemblance to the Clare Waight Keller dress worn by Meghan Markle, Ivania by Pronovias is proof that a simple gown is often the most stunning. Have you spotted the buttons at the cuffs, for example? A small, but seriously sweet, detail. And what about the plunging v-back? Oh my. Your wedding dress should make you feel like the very best version of yourself, and our beautiful bride Emily radiates a subtle sexiness that mirrors the venue styling so well.

Music

Both Adi and I love music so this was a huge deal for us. Adi is a massive 80’s/soul and funk/disco lover and, for the evening, we booked the amazing Flo Collective as a nine-piece, with two vocalists and a three-piece brass section. Our guests were so eager to party that people started dancing during the soundcheck! Our first dance was to Adi’s favourite song – ‘Never Too Much’ by Luther Vandross. Adi created a one-minute edit from the original, where we danced alone, and then the band kicked in. At the end of the night, Adi and his best man Tim, who have been DJing together for nearly 20 years, took to the decks to carry on the party.

Emily & Adi

Emily and Adi look so relaxed, so happy and so in love - which is both a credit to them as a couple, and a testament to the skill of their photographer, Chris Barber. Producing a stunning set of captures like this does not happen by accident, which is why your choice of photographer is one of the most important you will make whilst planning your big day. Not sure where to start or what to ask? Episode 3, Series 2 of our podcast delves into the depths of wedding photography, from how to find the best wedding photographer for you to how to get the most from your photographer on the day. Check it out so that, like Emily and Adi, you have no regrets.
