Inspiration

OMG this wedding! It ticks all of the boxes on my list of things I love at a wedding. Gorgeous dress, outdoor ceremony, amazing florals, a big old party in a tipi AND stunning photography. I lost count of the amount of times an image from Lucy Little made me do a little gasp. For starters there's the image above of Jayne just looking SO happy and beautiful, which is exactly how every Bride should feel on her wedding day. Then there's the image of Jayne giving her Dad a huge hug. And then the image of her and Bobby walking along in the sunset... You need to savour each and every one. Oh and Jayne's hair?! Serious hair envy going on at RMW HQ! I'll let you enjoy it, but please don't read the text if you haven't already eaten, as the food sounds utterly delicious and will make you want to do so immediately - you have been warned...

The Bride

Jayne The Bride: The wedding dress and veil were made on a trip to Vietnam by a tailors called Adong Silk. The staff were incredibly helpful and the design was completed within four days, for a fifth of the price in the UK. You can also send your measurements from the UK. I wanted to be comfortable, eat lots and dance. The dress fitted the relaxed theme of the wedding. My something old was my mother’s pearl earring’s, my something new was my wedding dress, my something borrowed was my mother’s necklace. Finally my something blue was my blue opal engagement ring. The beautiful opal engagement ring and wedding bands were bespoke from the jeweller Cris Sandres.

The Groom

I wore a Hugo Boss suit, shirt, tie and belt. A Daniel Wellington watch and Oliver Sweeney shoes.

The Venue

We knew instantly that Stanley Villa would be the perfect wedding location for us, we wanted to get married in a forest, have a tipi and a view of a lake. Stanley Villa delivered on all of these aspects. It also had great facilities and camping pods for ours guests to stay in over the weekend. Alex the site manager helped us throughout and was a pleasure to deal with.

The Colour Scheme/Décor

We wanted the colour scheme and décor to celebrate the English summer, we chose flowers that had a fantastic smell and that were in season. E.g. English peonies, flocks, stocks and rosemary. All the flowers were white. My bouquet was made with Peonies. The accent colour was a light turquoise. The button holes were also peonies. The silk flowers that hung in the forest were gratefully sourced by a friend, Claire, based in Hong Kong.

The Wedding Party

Flower girls were in white, the dresses were comfortable and from The H&M kids section, page boys and groomsmen had the same turquoise accent colour for ties. The groomsmens suits were from Ben Sherman.

The Ceremony

Beautiful reading read by Sarah Lawrence, EE.Cummings 'I Carry Your Heart.' Walk in music, Ekki Mukk by Sigur Ros, signing the register- Angels by The XX, exit Music -Sweet Thing by Van Morrison. Evening Band were Johnno and Kelly (friends of the bride and groom based in Australia).

Advice

- Shop around for quotes, you don’t always need to accept the first quote you are given. - When buying things in bulk always ask for a discount. - When considering flowers think about what is in season. This way you’ll get the best price. - Purchasing a dress from overseas can be less expensive than buying one in the UK if you research properly. - Pinterest was a great starting point for concepts. - Deezer is great for making a playlist. - Enjoy yourselves and have the best time.
