Inspiration

This at home wedding has hit me right in the feels. From the adorable 'first look' between the bride and her father, to the late night celebrations in the beautiful tipi reception. Jason Mark Harris & Harris Films have left no emotion or detail uncaptured. The blush colour scheme and fashion are off the chart, with the adorable page boys and flowers girls definitely outshining the bridesmaids and groomsmen in their tutus and braces ;), which is a tall order as the bridesmaids are wearing stylish Needle & Thread dresses and the groomsmen dapper light grey suits. There's no taking away from how spectacular bride Kara looks though. The bodice on her Anna Georgina dress is absolutely heavenly and I love that she teamed it with an Augusta Jones tulle skirt to match her bridal party. Now are you ready to swoon and sigh? Thought so.

Dress

Kara the Bride : Never did I think I would find the dress of my dreams when I was 10 weeks pregnant. My Mum, bridesmaids and I simply went for a fun day out trying dresses on before bump popped! It was in White Mischief in Henfield that I found my beautiful Anna Georgina dress. I particularly fell in love with the top of the dress, a deep V at the front and back and covered in intricate flowers and vine detailing. It was exquisite, romantic yet sexy and completely suitable for a church wedding. I added a tulle skirt from Augusta Jones, which I took off in the evening. My full length veil was also from Augusta Jones. Other accessories were nude Christian Louboutins, and hooped diamond earrings from Monica Vinader which were a gift on the day from my new husband!

Jewellery

My wedding band was a thin full diamond eternity ring. Tom chose a white gold wheat patterned band to reflect his farming lifestyle, which was made on the Isle of Wight by our friend Adrienne Wroath.

The Groomsmen

Tom and the Groomsmen wore a light blue 3 piece suit from Burton, then had the trousers tailored to a skinner fit and shortened. The suit was paired with loafers from Ted Baker and a silk coral tie and pocket square. My gifts to Tom were an Aspinal of London wallet which I personalised by having his initials embossed onto it, and a simple watch from Kartel with the engraving "There isn't a second I won't love you" on the back of the face.

The Venue

Living on our family farm there was never any doubt that we wanted the wedding reception to be held here. On a field directly in front of Tom's parents' manor house we had a rustic style tipi from Surrey and Sussex Tipi Hire. This gave us full creativity on the décor and so many guests on the day commented how pretty the tipi looked. Unfortunately we were unlucky with the weather but it meant that everyone acknowledged all the handmade things and little details that were put into the wedding. Our Photographer Jason Mark Harris said the atmosphere inside the tipi was one of the best he had ever been a part of.

The Flowers

The bouquets, church and reception flowers were designed by Angela, owner of Findon Flowers. With a colour scheme of corals, blush pinks and a hint of blue, Angela used a stunning selection of natural flowers, along with sprigs of wheat for her loose arrangements. Cornflowers and gypsophila were also used in the Bridesmaids hair.

The Wedding Party

The Bridesmaids wore knee length dresses from Needle and Thread, three in dust peach and two in blossom pink. They paired their dresses with strappy silver heels from ASOS. The flower girls wore custom made blush pink tulle skirts from Flowers and Confetti, white ballet bodysuits and large flower crowns. The Page Boys looked dapper in light blue H&M trousers, a white River Island collarless shirt and pink braces from ebay.

The Car

One of my favourite surprises was when my Dad arranged for us to be picked up in a Rolls Royce Wraith 1937. As soon as I saw it waiting for us I welled up. I felt like a movie star being driven to the church and Dad really helped to settle any last minute butterflies.

The Entertainment

Upon arrival at the tipi the talented duo Steel Strum greeted guests. Their contemporary Caribbean style really lifted the grey British weather and brought the sunshine indoors. My girls and I were dancing around the tables with such happiness in our hearts. In the evening we had the incredible Freestyle Funk Collective. A 9 piece band with a female vocalist who literally sang the roof off the tipi! Their amazing sound and brilliant choice of songs kept everyone on the dance floor all night. I can't recommend both bands highly enough.

The Cake

Made by my cousin Ellie, owner of the fabulous Frostbite Bakery on the Isle of Wight. We had two cakes as we served them as part of our evening food. The first a three tier semi naked cake of Victoria sponge, chocolate and lemon cake decorated with roses, gypsophila and ivy from the florist. The second was a pretty pink and coral drip carrot cake covered in macaroons, meringues and strawberries. Both were unbelievably delicious!

The Photography

From the day Tom proposed I knew that I wanted Jason to capture our big day. I have followed him and his incredible work for years. Thankfully the engagement was just far enough in advance that he was free! His photos are natural, from the heart and each one tells a story. He is one of the nicest people you'll meet and made everyone feel at ease. I cannot wait to receive our wedding album and show it off to everyone I know!

The Videography

Having a videographer was neither on our list of must haves or within budget, but after seeing Sarah Harris' (Jason's Wife) work my mind was instantly changed! On the day she was so discreet you wouldn't have known she was there. Yet she captured everything we could have wanted, and more! When we received the video, I started to cry within seconds and continued until the very end! It surpassed all my expectations and dreams. One piece of advice is, if you haven't booked a videographer then you must! Our wedding video is something we will treasure forever and I can't wait to watch it with Jesse when he's that bit older.

Thank You's

We want to say the biggest thank you to our parents for helping to organise our dream day. We really couldn't have done it without them and know they enjoyed the day just as much as we did, it's all we talked about for weeks after, and my Mum still says 9 weeks on "I wish we could do it all again." Me too Mum!
