Katherine & Martin

It is so wonderful when we receive a beautiful submission and it turns out the Bride and Groom have sourced so many fantastic suppliers via Rock My Wedding. Katherine and Martin discovered both the divine Iscoyd Park and super talented Shutterbox Films via our pretty pages.

This perfectly executed Spring affair was captured almost exclusively on film by long term sponsors Christian and Erica, the soft muted tones create a feminine and timeless colour palette and the sartorial choices are spot on, from the mis-matched Groomsmen suits to the dove grey Bridesmaids dresses to Katherine’s elegant lace “Dominique” Sassi Holford gown.

Brides Outfit

Katherine The Bride: I found my dress at a beautiful boutique in Sheffield called The White Room. It was Dominique by Sassi Holford. I loved the spotted lace over the fishtail which made it stand out from the rest, being able to remove the sleeves in the evening was a bonus! As the dress was quite structured I wanted to keep things simple so I left my hair down and wavy and didn’t wear any jewellery apart from my diamond stud earrings and a bracelet that Martin gave me on the morning of the wedding. Sadly my Dad passed away a few years ago so I had a piece of his favourite shirt in the shape of a heart sewn into the inside of my dress. My shoes were from Jimmy Choo.

Grooms Attire

Martin wore a three piece suit from Reiss. The tie was also from Reiss and shoes were from Kurt Geiger. We went for a normal tailored suit to go along with the relaxed atmosphere of the day.

The Venue

I found Iscoyd Park through Rock My Wedding, I looked it up straight away and it ticked all the boxes. We wanted the day to be relaxed and laid back and as soon as we visited Iscoyd Park and met the owner Phil Godsal we knew immediately it was exactly what we wanted. It was comfy and homely and also absolutely beautiful. We live in South Yorkshire so made it even better that we could make it into a weekend away.

Colour Scheme/Décor

We didn’t really have a theme as such. We had pale grey as a colour scheme and pastel coloured flowers. As the house is stunning on its own, we just used our flowers to decorate.

Flowers

Selina did a wonderful job with the flowers. We had pale pinks, cream and white with eucalyptus to tie in the grey for the bouquets. We used the same colours for the centrepieces but added pale blue hydrangeas and had a huge flower ball hanging in the centre of the marquee.

The Wedding Party Fashion

I had my four best friends as Bridesmaids. I had been looking for a dove grey colour and came across the dresses while browsing on the Ted Baker website and it was the colour I had in mind. The men in the wedding party wore their own suits and we gave them all matching ties. We found long grey dresses for my two Nieces who were Flower Girls and they wore flower crowns. We had our two Nephews as Page Boys, they wore blue suits to match the rest of the wedding party.

Ceremony

Two of my Bridesmaids did a reading we had ‘A lovely Love Story’ by Edward Monkton. We wanted something that was funny and light hearted. I had my two older Brothers walk me down the aisle and they did a wonderful ‘Brothers of the Bride’ speech after the meal. Our Nephews had the important role of looking after the rings and did a great job.

Entertainment

The Dotted Crotchets was the first thing I booked, they played for the ceremony and throughout the drinks reception. We liked the fact they could play all genres of music and it sounded amazing! In the evening we had a band called Metropolis who got everyone on the dance floor for the rest of the night, everyone still comments on how good they were. We also had a photo booth for a few hours in the evening. We had a good giggle at all the pictures after the wedding!

Food

We had a naked cake with each tier being a different flavour decorated with fruit and flowers.
The food was delicious. The caterers did a fantastic job. We had canapés while having drinks outside and then for the meal, to start we had ham hock, pea and mint risotto followed by slow cooked lamb and dauphinoise potatoes with sticky toffee pudding for dessert. In the evening we had a DIY pork bap station and cake.

Photographer

Christian and Erica were recommended by a friend. They had the natural style that we were looking for. They are such a lovely couple and made having photos taken incredibly easy, we hardly knew they were there. We couldn’t be happier with all the pictures they have taken. It made choosing the ones for our album very difficult.

Videographer

I found Shutterbox Films through Rock My Wedding as well. They were so friendly. As soon as Lee and Dawn responded to my email I knew it would be great to have them filming on the day. So many people have said since that they didn’t even know we had videographers!
I would definitely recommend having a videographer if your budget allows as it is some of the best money we’ve ever spent!

  1. Wow what a beautiful wedding love the flowers and what a beautiful dress, I was wondering who you had walk you down the aisle as my dad passed away a couple of years ago and my mum and brother are fighting for the position lol xx

    1. Hi Emma, thank you! I had one of my brothers walk me down the aisle. I originally wanted them both to but it wasn’t wide enough.. My eldest brother walked my mum down. X

  2. Absolutely in love with these photos, the main picture with the bride and her bridesmaids is just stunning. I see these “naked” cakes are very popular and it’s clear why that is. Also love the cheeky photo of the lady laughing, just brilliant!

  3. What a gorgeous wedding! I am especially in love with the table plan – did that come from Artcadia too?x
