I’m one of those people that if I see somebody cry, I cry, and that’s exactly what I did when I saw the beautifully captured images by Milda Vasile Photography of Kirsten crying when she said her vows. I also beamed like a Cheshire cat when I saw Jean-Francois smiling adoringly at his new wife when they had their cheeky ‘first look’!
Heythrop Park Resort was the perfect fairytale venue to host Kirsten & Jean-Francois’s Art Deco ‘Great Gatsby’ inspired wedding and along with their pearl, lace and vintage rose colour scheme they managed to pull off the most glamorous 1920s affair.
Kirsten also has THE most refined, sophisticated look! I’m SO in love with her hair and accessories. And her lace Justin Alexander gown is just stunning and completes the look perfectly!
The Brides Fashion
Kirsten The Bride: As the theme of our wedding was “Great Gatsby” I was looking for a dress that reflects the fashion of the 1920’s including a lot of lace. I love lace!! I knew that the U.S. designer Justin Alexander had an entire collection based on the 1920’s style. When I tried the dress on I fell immediately in love with it. The special back with the lace and the long train… Also it wasn’t white, it was cream coloured.
With the Great Gatsby theme – a black tuxedo was a must and the perfect fit.
Heythrop Park Resort had everything we were looking for. It worked well with the theme of the wedding. With having the manor house as the location of the ceremony, wedding reception and dinner, it was the perfect place to celebrate in style. It felt like we owned it for the day. The gardens and the grounds around the manor house are just wonderful.
Colour Scheme / Decor
The colour Scheme was a pale pinkish/ old rose; the design the ornaments and font of the stationery reflected the theme. No Great Gatsby without a lot of pearls, mirrors and crystal glasses and vases.
Emma Walker picked up the wedding theme perfectly in the décor and flowers she supplied. We showed her pictures before and she developed our ideas further. I loved her idea to add feathers to the bridal bouquet and the flowers for the bridesmaids posies matched the shade of their dresses perfectly.
My dream was always a Peggy Porschen cake for my wedding and with her Sicilian Lemonsponge Cake and the design of the cake it perfectly matched our theme. We chose a light crème colour which looked very elegant.
We found Milda through her Facebook page. I loved the way of her wedding documentary style. After a quick brief on the theme of the wedding we decided with her on the must-have shots. She was great and captured our wedding day perfectly.
