Kitty And Dulcie.

Well today has turned out to be pretty exciting all in all, as you read this not only will Team RMW will be at The National Wedding Show but we have a ridiculously delicious exclusive to share with you all.

It’s no big secret that I am a sucker for fashion. Even more so when a collection is beautifully styled and the pieces are A. Complete. Bargain.

Imagine my delight then when Kirstie Taylor (she of Flo and Percy fame) and new business partner Shelley-Carter Bright (beauty writer for many a fancy glossy) asked Rock My Wedding to feature their brand new range of vintage-inspired gowns.

Kitty Paine and Dulcie Smith were Kirstie and Shelley’s grandmothers who in the war-torn years when money and materials were scare, shared an undeterred and fierce passion for dress-making. In their honour and loving memory Kitty and Dulcie was born, an on-line boutique of affordable, beautiful and catwalk-worthy W-day dresses.

The Kitty And Dulcie website has everything you could possibly need for purchasing your favourite frock at the touch of a button, all-angle images with zoom feature (LOVE a zoom me….) and a video that demonstrates exactly how each delectable number “moves”.

So without further ado, sit back, relax and enjoy the pretty.

The Cockney Rebel: Goodness me the swooshyness… layers of tulle make me giddy with glee, and I love the mix of princess-esque dress with bohemian headpiece and rock n roll make-up. £375.

The City Slicker: Yes I know, who knew a full length slinky applique number combined with a bowler hat would look so darn HOT? If I was offered the opportunity to wear this to the local market I so would. £375

The Bobbi Dazzler: Fun and flirty, one-shoulder floral corsage detail is gonna be HUGE for 2012 brides. And not that I want to make you buy even more or anything but… at £285 you could purchase it just for the first dance right?

The Pearly Queen: Make like an extra from Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan with a knee-length full-skirted number. There are sparkly beads AND sequins people. £285

The Dolly Rocker: The bow… how I love thee. And you know what? it’s the biggest bargain of the lot, £250. I’ll have two please….

Head Candy: If you were wondering what the to-die-for head accessories were then they are the Wilderness headband and the Temptation headband, both by Flo & Percy. And with such an under budget gown why not treat yourself?

Photography: Sarah Louise Johnson assisted by Paris Walkett

Make-up: Katie Reedman at Slap

Hair: Mariko Kinto Athertoncox

Every Kitty and Dulcie dress arrives beautifully tissue wrapped complete with pretty padded hanger for you to try on in the comfort of your own home. I really want one. And as I can’t find a suitable enough excuse to flex the plastic I am hoping some of you gorgeous lot certainly will.

P.S Does anyone else order clothes off the net that are essentially just for themselves giftwrapped for the sheer pleasure of receiving fancy parcel? No? Oh dear. Just me then.

  1. Charlotte, bit of a sloppy post – you’ve missed a ZERO off the prices right?

Because that can’t be right. £285? Can it?

Pearly Queen for me. For the rehearsal dinner. DONE.

  2. WOW. I’m actually speechless (not something that happens often!!) but these dresses are TOTALLY gorgeous and such good value, they look like they are £1500 dresses! If I can elbow my way through the stampede then I want The Pearly Queen as my 2nd dress please … seriously, it would solve ALL my issues about not being able to dance in my current dress!!! Where do I get one, like RIGHT NOW?

And Charlotte, you’re not the only one who orders gift wrapping just for you so its nice when a ‘surprise’ arrives in the post …. I’ve been known to do that too but don’t tell anyone!!

  3. OMG – That city slicker design has got my name on it. The dresses look AMAZING, especially in the videos, such lovely detailing! I am SOLD! x

  4. hahahaha, yes, I do that to! absolutely nothing wrong with it in my opinion 😉

these dresses are a.mazing, especially the short ones – I heart me a short dress! i can have one even though i’m already married right?

    mrs r.now x x x

  5. Wow!! These are just amazing – I wish I’d known about them before but I have my dress now 🙁 Although getting seriously tempted to order the Pearly Queen anyway….seeing as the dress I have only cost £60 it wouldn’t be too wasteful, right?! xx

  6. Hahahaha, no, Charlotte, I’m with you on the giftwrapping part. We don’t need to mention the AP scenario again. But needless to say, I almost buy things for the packaging more than the product.

Cant get enough of those green shoes!! Want and need. The dresses look great too of course. What colour is the tissue paper again though? (joking. no really) xxx

  7. I’m loving cockney rebel. If I hadn’t already had my wedding (gosh and darn it) then I would be totally ordering that. And my wallet would have been very appreciative too!

    xx

  8. Thank you for all the wonderful comments.

Shirley, they are the quality of a £1000 dress or more, we can offer these prices as we have no shop, staff, middle man and have a low margin. They are essentially trade prices straight to you!

  9. The funny thing is I would have never have worn a dress like Cockney Rebel on my wedding day, but when I tried the sample on I thought I had died and gone to heaven with all the swooshiness (is that a word, it should be)!

  10. These are abso-blooming-lutely amazing!!! Would they be easy to get altered though? I just looked at your size chart and I’m a 12 in the bust, 8 in the waist and 10 in the hips!

  11. Wow – amazing selection and price.
Wishing these had been around earlier this year when I was searching for my dress. I’m loving the City Slicker – very similar to my actual dress but a £1000 cheaper 🙁

  12. These are totally gorgeous and at such amazing prices!! I LOVE that first short dress so much! Wasn’t really tempted by a second dress before, but I would so order that one if I had time – unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, as H2B would not approve!), it wouldn’t get here in time for my w-day the day after tomorrow!!

I love Flo and Percy and can totally vouch for their customer service as I was lucky enough to win their White Queen hair comb in the competition on this site a while back. Their pieces are beautiful and now I so want a Kitty and Dulcie dress too! Would it be inappropriate to renew our vows on our return from honeymoon, just so I can have one of their frocks??? 🙂

  13. These dresses are gorgeous and such good value! Trying to work out if I can justify Pearly Queen for floating about on honeymoon!!

And Charlotte, I do that all the time :S I have spent a ridiculous amount of money of pretty lingerie (for my honeymoon of course!) this year knowing that it arrives in tissue paper, in a fancy box and tied up with pretty ribbon – a parcel of pretty through the post never fails to cheer me up! 🙂

    xx

  14. Such lovely comments girls, we are so grateful.

Tracy, thanks so much for your comment and also your kind words about Flo & Percy, rest assured that the same quality and customer service are in those dresses. You CAN get quality wedding dresses for less and we want to prove it i

  15. Have been readily stressing about the cost of wedding dresses and not being able to find one I like. Now I have found dresses I love and at a fantastic price! Hooray 🙂

  16. Oh why am I married already!!

LOVE these dresses. I feel like I NEED both Pearly Queen AND Bobbi Dazzler in my live… may need a different colour though 😉 Already have one wedding dress!

    xoxo

  17. wow, stunning dresses, amazing prices and a great idea behind the business. Like many others have already said, I wish this company had been around when I got married. The Pearly Queen is the type of dress I would have LOVED to have had for our legal ceremony.
Good luck with the business (although I don’t think you’ll really be needing it!)

  18. Wow Charlotte, you’ve made my day! I really want a short evening dress (just so I can DANCE!) but couldn’t justify a second expensive dress. Only question now – Pearly Queen or Dolly Rocker??

  19. Hi Pips,

OOh tough one, I love the Dolly Rocker, but my partner Shelley is a Pearly Queen girl. The Pearly Queen may have more of the swish & twirl factor for some Dirty Dancing?
    Love
    Kirstie & Shelley
