Inspiration

Good job stealing someone's heart is not a crime, because these two police officers are a perfect match. Janey and Rhys' wedding weekend at the fabulous Fforest Farm in Wales is utterly joyous, with beaming smiles, a beautiful setting and so many brilliant touches; think afternoon tea, confetti cannons and the bride doing the limbo - not to mention a steel band and rum cocktails. Yes, please! Keep an eye out, too, for Janey's gorgeous lace KatyaKatya gown, which she customises with different coloured slips throughout the day. It complements the relaxed, rustic feel of the day and suits her perfectly.

FFOREST FARM WEDDING VENUE

I found Fforest Farm after frantically Googling 'barn/outdoor/relaxed/festival weddings in Wales'. I immediately fell in love with the RMW recommended venue as it was so unique and beautiful, with tipis, fire pits, a pub and accommodation to the standard of Soho Farmhouse on site. I went to visit with a friend first, in order to prepare my pitch to Rhys, and then took him a few weeks later. I had to persuade him quite a bit as, when we visited, it was wet and windy, and the venue wasn't set up. I had to ensure that he was able to see past the puddles and mud (I think the cute pub on site eventually convinced him!). We had a weekend-long celebration, with pizzas and soup to welcome everyone on Friday, and brunch on Sunday. - Janey & Rhys

Lace KatyaKatya Dress - with Selection of Slips

I had two musts for my dress: one, it had to be lacy, and two, it had to be lightweight. KatyaKatya was the first shop I went to and my dress was the first dress I tried on. I could just tell from the faces of my mum and sister that it was 'the one'. The staff at KatyaKatya made the whole experience incredibly relaxed, even going to the effort of opening the shop early for me on a Saturday as it was my only opportunity to travel down from Wales. I paired my dress with a floor-length veil, red Christian Louboutin shoes, and two different satin slips: pale white during the day, and pale blue in the evening.

AFTERNOON TEA PARTY

Rather than a traditional wedding breakfast, we had an afternoon tea party after the ceremony. We were initially concerned that people wouldn't be full, but we were so wrong: the sandwiches, pastries, cakes and tea were perfect, washed down with dark and stormy rum cocktails. We then had a hog roast before the evening party, during which people were able to mingle and sit where they pleased. Our semi-naked wedding cake - with three tiers of traditional sponge and chocolate sponge - was cut after our legal ceremony on the Friday and placed into little paper bags with personalised stickers, and then handed out to guests on the Saturday evening. - Janey & Rhys

Arrest me now, for I truly am in love with this super cute couple and their gorgeous wedding day. The venue, with all its different elements, is incredibly special. And what about that golden hour light in some of Claudia Rose Carter's captures? Stunning. I am also a fan of the white ASOS kaftans worn by the bridesmaids after the ceremony. A great way to add a layer without hiding their lovely dresses. Wondering what to do with your own bridesmaids? The first episode of the RMW podcast is dedicated to your best girls.
