Inspiration

I bet you've never seen a farm look this good? We'll sit down, relax and take it all in as you're about to be inspired with seasonal Spring flowers in gorgeous pastel shades, bridal separates including a lace wedding jacket and turban headbands. Plus, last, but by no means least, delicious lollipop favours, a buttercream wedding cake and matching wedding stationery.

VISION

A modern take on a nature-inspired shoot at Willow Marsh Farm using 100% British, seasonal flowers, naturally dyed silks and botanically inspired cakes, treats and stationery.

CONCEPT & STYLING

"The idea for the shoot was centred around showcasing the incredible venue Willow Marsh Farm with its stunning marsh-land and romantic backdrop. It also focused on using as many seasonal and sustainable elements as possible, from the British grown flowers to the plant dyed silks, everything revolved around the natural beauty and celebrating the seasons. The colour palette was made up of pastels, focusing on apricot and sandy earthy colours which were reflected in the grasses of the marshes, with hints of different shades of green and very soft touches of light blue. Shooting in Spring gave us the opportunity to tune into the softer, more gentle colours whilst keeping the styling wild, reflecting the landscape surrounding the venue." - Marianne Slater

Lace Wedding Jacket

We love the versatility of the bridal separates by Susanna Greening Designs used in this shoot. The Guipure lace wedding jacket adds another dimension to the Hazel pure silk slip dress. As does the layers of tulle on the Ash skirt teamed with the Thorn pure silk t-shirt. And best of all, her designs are eco-friendly as they made from bamboo and peace silk, perfect for the ethically conscious bride.

FLOWERS

"Frances and Rose used a palette of seasonal British flowers to draw the theme together perfectly, from delicate blossoms scattered throughout the styling to the bolder colours of the peach tulips and frilly ranunculus in arrangements. The pops of blue came from the tiny forget-me-nots, who really earnt their romantic name whilst nestled in the stunning bridal bouquet. The table setting focused on a number of quirky, flower-filled containers, styled with different heights and textures in mind to give gorgeous scent and views from every seat at the table. Marianne from Frances and Rose grew all the flowers featured in the shoot herself at her plot in the Peak District, so not only are her blooms organic, this makes them the most eco-conscious choice for couples looking to keep things as sustainable and green as possible. Marianne is also a ‘foam-free’ florist meaning she uses techniques, materials and methods for all her designs that avoid floral foam - a single-use, non-biodegradable substance - and finds alternatives to single-use plastics such as cellophane. Marianne also acted as the artistic director on this shoot using her eye for colour and seasonal beauty to coordinate and style the day." - Marianne Slater

CAKE

"Gayle at Where the Ribbon Ends created the most spectacular (and delicious) cake and treats for the shoot, using nature as her inspiration. She kept the colours simple and subdued, crafting the most exquisite sugar flowers and leaves, in a rambling twist around three glorious layers of a frosted cake. The treats were a chocolate lovers dream, adorned with petals that were matched inside the lollipop favours, to which they added mini silk bows in different shades." - Marianne Slater
