I am so in love with the blooms at this wedding, they are simply breathtaking; soft peachy & pink tones complimenting the dark navy dresses of the bridesmaids perfectly, but we wouldn’t expect anything less from one of our very own member’s of The List The Wilde Bunch
As much as I love the flowers I have to say I love this Bride & Groom a little bit more, you can just tell they are hopelessly in love, but also that they had an absolute blast on their wedding day; The image of Laura the Bride using Rich’s leg as a guitar is AMAZING & I know I’ll be stealing her dance moves on my next night out!
This wedding is rustic glamour at it’s best, their venue Almonry Barn is simply breathtaking and was decorated beautifully with lots of DIY goodies to inspire you.
Rich The Groom: We both really wanted to celebrate our wedding day in a Barn, and I (Rich) wanted to find one that I hadn’t photographed a wedding in before. We had a look online and found Almonry Barn, we loved it from that moment. We loved the look of the barn, the extras they offer and the way they approached a wedding day. Laura & I arranged to go and see the Barn and were counting down the weeks until we could have a proper look around, we arrived at Almonry Barn and were greeted with a warm welcome from Louise. We knew instantly Almonry Barn was where we would get married. Every time we went back we fell more and more in love with Almonry Barn as did all of our friends and family when they shared in our wedding day.
Claire from The Wilde Bunch was recommended to us by our photographer Sam Gibson. Our first step, like everyone does these days, was to have a look at her website where we saw a picture (taken by Sam Gibson I believe) of Boots, Claire’s dog…always a good sign. Claire came to our house to discuss what we wanted and we made sure she brought Boots along. Claire was brilliant, we got on really well with her and she guided us through the world of wedding flowers perfectly. She understood exactly what we wanted, made great suggestions about alternatives when the flowers we wanted were out of season, she also kept in touch leading up to the day and on the actual day produced the most amazing flowers.
What can I say, our photographer Sam Gibson is a total hero, we cannot speak highly enough of him. When we met him for the first time we got on instantly. Sam’s work speaks for itself, simply stunning, flawless, emotive, perfection. Even more important than this Sam is a genuinely nice chap, he helped make our day special. He was outstanding all day, our guests loved him, the other suppliers loved him and we love him. When we look back at the pictures Sam took of our day we are taken right back to the big day, his photographs make us laugh, cry, smile, kiss and cuddle.
Ben from The Bristol Wedding Film Company, like Sam Gibson, was amazing. He is a down-to-earth chap that clearly loves what he does and is exceptional at it. It was a pleasure having him at our wedding, the guests loved having him around and Sam Gibson and Ben worked so well together you would have thought they had known each other for years. We can’t wait to see the final results
In the summer of 2013 I photographed the wedding of Brandon & Lucy, having got to know them I found out Brandon played bass in a wedding band called The Beehives, A funky soul group based in Bath. When it came to picking the entertainment there was only one group we wanted, The Beehives. We love the style of music they play and the all the members of the band are brilliant. They didn’t let us down, the music was superb…the perfect soundtrack to end our perfect day.
Along with Sam & Ben, Hannah from Curlicue Creative really stands out as one of our top suppliers. We had such fun working with Hannah to design our wedding stationery, invites, guest book and the countless signs…. We genuinely felt like she totally understood what we wanted at every stage, when we turned to Hannah for advice she always came up with great suggestions and everything she sent to us was more than perfect…
The Wedding Dress
Laura The Bride: I thought I had an idea of what dress I wanted in my head but when it came round to trying that style on it really did not suit me at all. I actually only went to 2 Bridal Boutiques, Perfect Day being the second that I visited. After my appointment with Perfect Day I did not need to search for my dream dress any longer! The staff & dresses & even the boutique itself were of an incredibly high standard. I was made to feel comfortable & not pressurised to buy anything at any point. They suggested accessories that would match (Vivien J handmade head piece) & they were spot on. They even changed my veil at the last minute with no quibbles! My dress was classic Ivory lace with a sweetheart neck line, a silk bow with small diamante beads & the dress had a beautiful oyster underlay which everyone said was unusual but really beautiful. It was not a showy dress but I felt a million dollars & it is a style that will never go out of fashion, so it will be coming out of the wedding box every year on the 4th October & popped on to celebrate
When we started to plan our wedding day we decided early on that we only wanted to share our day with suppliers that genuinely wanted to be part of our day, and count ourselves very lucky that now the day is over we can look back and say we wouldn’t change a thing. Everyone that contributed to our wedding made our day so special, we cannot thank our amazing suppliers enough
