Planning

At the end of Winter, we were invited to Town Hall Hotel by Knot and Pop for their Aussie Bridal Salon. We met some really lovely and very talented designers, one of whom was Cathleen Jia, whose bridal separates with a vintage twist had us weak at the knees. Today we're really excited to be bringing you her latest collection, Love Struck, which has just launched and was shot here in London, at Town Hall Hotel, by the wonderful Jason Williams. Who FYI Cathleen says was phenomenal to work with! It also makes me very proud that Cathleen and her team chose London as the backdrop to their shoot, 'not only because of the charming streets but also her recognition in marriage equality.' Hell yes to that sentiment. These images and the collection are the absolute embodiment of #lovewins. If you're looking for bridal design that is fashion forward but also looks to the past for inspiration, then Cathleen Jia is the designer for you...

From Cathleen Jia the Designer

To me, love can strike anyone at anytime, without discrimination. I really wanted to create a collection to capture freedom in love. Love Struck was inspired by liberty, individuality and ease. Brides are able to express their own style within the collection pieces, free to choose who they want to be and love who they desire. London was chosen as the location for our campaign photo shoot, not only because of the charming streets but also her recognition in marriage equality. I really wanted to emulate the chemistry between two modern lovers who have eloped to be together. We were fortunate enough to have the gorgeous Town Hall Hotel in East London as our venue. It allowed us to capture the intimate moments of two lovers getting ready together. The gowns were layered on and then stripped down to create different looks as the love story unfolds, showing brides the versatility of the collection.

The Collection

Love Struck is currently available via the Cathleen Jia bridal loft with trunk shows and international stockists coming soon. Brides are inspired to step outside the traditional wedding style and into vintage designs with modern elements. The complimentary pieces in the new Love Struck and Wild Romance collections intertwine, giving more options to create the look that mirrors the brides unique characteristics. The pieces are all cleverly designed to take the shape of the individual body, allowing brides all over the world to order the collection with confidence that they will have a minimal fitting process. Brides lusting over the dresses can contact Cathleen and her team here.
