Inspiration

Rose and Josh weren't worried if their day was 'perfect,' they just wanted a fun relaxed Manchester wedding that truly reflected them. When things got stressful, and even with a terror threat, they remembered that "it's about the marriage, not the wedding". They supported local businesses where they could including Sarah at Pink Cocoa who brought their wedding cake vision to life, beautifully mimicking the hand-painted watercolour design Rose's oldest friend illustrated for the wedding invitations. What a lovely personal touch.

Inspiration & Styling

We just wanted something relaxed and fun. We were looking for somewhere we could imagine hanging out with friends, something that would be natural to us. That's why we swayed away from the Hotel or Manor House type venues and focused on restaurants/bars as they felt more like us. We liked the modern look of the Lead Station. We styled it with foliage runners and candles so make it feel more like a wedding and add some cosiness and colour. Our clothes were influenced in part by the venue as we wanted them to complement the style of the day. I ruled out one of the dresses as the skirt felt too big for the town hall and restaurant, the dress I chose complemented the settings better.

Manchester Wedding

When you think of Manchester you instantly think of a vibrant city full of contemporary haunts and the famous 'worker bee' emblem. Rose and Josh managed to incorporate both of these traits into their Manchester wedding by having their reception at the stylish Lead Station, a fabulous restaurant and bar which was a former police station, ticking all their relaxed wedding day boxes. You've probably already clocked Rose's to-die-for Gucci shoes with bee brooch, the perfect footwear to accompany her vintage bridal look.
