Inspiration

This South East London couple kept their day relaxed and intimate, the bride wore the most beautiful pair of Manolo Blahnik wedding shoes and the styling was kept very true to who they are, nothing flashy or over the top and all in keeping with their urban city day. Every aspect of this wedding captured the bride and grooms love for design and contemporary art, not to mention the incredible non-traditional wedding cake and colourful personalised meringue kisses at the end of the night all shot romanticly by Michelle Wood.

What Made Our Day Unique

We didn't want to book a venue or use suppliers that we didn't have a connection to. Our home and favourite places are in South East London so it made sense to us to get married here. We made sure to keep the feel low key and local, while still treating ourselves to things we had always dreamed of having and was important to us. We both didn't want to feel bound by old school wedding traditions and made sure to do things a bit differently. Our photographer was amazing. Michelle Wood. captured the exact vibe and style we wanted and everyone that sees our photos comments on how great they are. Romantic, yet cool and a little bit edgy.

Manolo Blahnik Wedding Shoes

Show me a girl that hasn't dreamed of one day wearing a pair of Manolo Blahnik Wedding Shoes on their wedding day! This bride teamed her amazing shoes perfectly with a Charlie Brear satin wedding dress and a delicate removable polka dot overskirt which she whipped off for the evening reception, such a clever way to create two separate looks. This couple made the decision to spend their money on things that they really love and along with these amazing shoes that also included having their reception at one of their favourite pubs in London The Crooked Well where they easily picked their perfect menu. This relaxed, urban venue was perfectly decorated using Into The Wild florist which the couple managed to snap up after discovering at a local food market, the mixture of pinks, purples and whites created using a combination of pompom dahlias and peonies looked summery and elegant teamed up with the industrial style concrete table numbers from Bells & Whistles.

Inspiration & Styling

We wanted our day to have a relaxed, urban, city vibe, relevant both to where we met and where we live in South East London. It was also important that people felt at ease on the day. Our styling wasn't flashy or over the top and was true to who we are. We took decisions based on what we like, rather than on traditional stereotypes. No stuffy posed pictures, meringue dresses or fruit cake in sight! We both had lots of fun getting ready with our bridesmaids and ushers and can both remember the massive smiles on our faces when we saw each other first. We loved our confetti shot moment and the fun we had around the dinner table and on the dancefloor.
