Inspiration

Everything about Laura and Antony’s wedding day is super pretty and styled with plenty of individual touches, from Laura’s beautiful Martina Liana bridal dress to their Aperol Spritz cocktail cart and a brownie tiered wedding cake. The brides mum did a special reading in the ceremony that she wrote herself adding so much emotion to their wedding. Dartmouth House played host to their celebrations, such a beautiful London venue, styled with lots of greenery and floral details including the huge foliage arch, all filled with lots of dancing and happiness and captured perfectly by Alexa Penberthy.

What Made Our Day Unique

Finding the most perfect venue. We always said it doesn't matter where we get married as long as it's a little 'bit of us'. This took us to villas in the Italian hills, to mid-century halls in Derbyshire and Kent, our hometowns, to London where we both live and adore. When we found Dartmouth House we both fell in love - it's right in the heart of Mayfair and yet feels really secluded. I love the rich history it has, a London townhouse of a Lord, with striking original features. But my favourite part - the Italian courtyard out the back, complete with water fountain and lemon trees. Was thrilled to find somewhere we could be in the sunshine - hugely important to me! It felt so special to be in the city we love and yet feel like we were in an exclusive sanctuary of grandness and sunshine with all our family friends.

Martina Liana

Laura opted for a beautiful gown from Martina Liana and looked amazing in her wedding dress which featured a laced detail and off the shoulder sleeves. The bride picked up her dream dress from Angelica Bridal, after previously walking past the boutique many times actually getting to go inside and try on the wedding dresses felt very special. Laura's look is completed with loose waves and a killer pair of silver embellished heels from Dune. The bride and her bridesmaids all clutched pretty white floral bouquets by Larkspur and Lavender which worked perfectly with the bridesmaid's pale blue dresses.

Inspiration & Styling

Although we weren't looking for somewhere we didn't need to do much to in terms of decorating, Dartmouth House happened to be such that we didn't need to do too much to change it, just enhance it and put our own twist. The vibe was botanical/art deco. So lots of greens & leaves plus white/cream/peachy flowers to bring it to life. We had foliage up the stairway and my favourite - a huge foliage arch at the top of the aisle. We wanted to show our playful & adventurous side in the flowers & small touches. I love pineapples (I was dressed up as a pineapple on my hen) so they featured subtly e.g. the name cardholders. We named the tables after our favourite Michelin restaurants as we go to one for every birthday and anniversary.

Favourite Moment

Lots of special moments were on that grand staircase - it'd be hard not to feel moved by such a stunning entrance I guess! Walking up the stairs with my Dad and my bridesmaids with my dress on ready to walk down the aisle is giving me that jittery excited feeling again just thinking about it. Also walking into the Drawing Room for the wedding breakfast and seeing all our favourite people there was so special (we remember thinking damn the flowers look good, too!). Finally, when everyone moved down to the courtyard after the breakfast, we'd hired a popup Aperol Spritz tricycle bar - it was a hot day and so a very welcome surprise for our guests! :)
