Inspiration

Shortly after weddings were able to go ahead in July 2020, Kate and Pete decided they wanted to get married, so enlisted the help of photographer Miss Gen to capture their intimate London elopement. Kate showed off her pregnant bump beautifully in a high street maternity wedding dress and shoes she'd previously worn on her first date with Pete, whilst Pete opted for a classic navy suit and blue tie, and they looked soo happy as international wedding guests tuned in to the nuptials via a streamed zoom call. This is a wonderful example of love not being cancelled, and the epitome of having your day your way.

What Made Our Day Unique

We always wanted something informal and relaxed as we plan on celebrating with a large group of friends and family who are from all over the world at some point in the future but with everything going on with COVID we just had our fingers crossed that the lockdown restrictions wouldn't change and we could go ahead as planned after rescheduling multiple times! We had Pete's family from the US on zoom and they all dressed up - it was 10 am their time. It was really special to have them participate even from a distance.

Maternity Wedding Dress

As Kate and Pete's intimate London elopement was so last minute, and she had to cater for her growing bump, Kate turned to the high street for her maternity wedding dress. She found her romantic and whimsical gown from Anaya With Love on ASOS and it fit the bill perfectly. She teamed her off the shoulder gown with a pair of green satin shoes with a jewelled front, which were actually the pumps she wore for her and Pete's first date. Socailly Distanced Wedding

We weren't able to have readings due to government guidelines but we managed to have a few personal vows each. The bride cried unexpectedly but Pete held it together! Being in London was important as we both love the city and its where we fell in love. It holds many amazing memories for us. Old Marylebone Town Hall is an iconic London building and felt perfect for us. We ended up in the largest room due to social distancing and it really made the ceremony feel special.

Wedding Suppliers

Gingerlily is a local florist and I was happy to support them as we all come out of lockdown. I just discussed my requirements over the phone with Helen and she presented me with the perfectly relaxed and informal bouquet on the day. Our photographer, Miss Gen was incredible! She totally got our ideas and had loads of her own which made both of us feel at home and relaxed. She captured the essence of us and the day in a way I didn't think was possible, given that we had no guests and it was a last-minute elopement. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.
