I think this might be one of the best weddings I've ever blogged. Actually, thinking about it, it might be one of the best weddings I've ever seen!!! The tropical details, the bright colour scheme, Meera's BEAUTIFUL white and gold wedding sari...and I've not even started on the incredible Costa Brava venue, with hidden courtyards, a pool and the most incredible native Spanish plants and flowers. Detallerie have styled the wedding to perfection - if you want to theme your wedding with a tropical vibe, then this is a masterclass in how to do it...
Meera and Patrick decided to get married while they were volunteering in Sri Lanka, country of origin of her family, where they were to discover the essence and traditions of their ancestors. The couple dreamed about a simple and fun wedding abroad; one place where the weather was hot and could enjoy a magical summer dinner with friends and family. And for them the right spot was a little town at the Costa Brava in Catalonia called Pals. The ceremony took place at a beautiful village called Peratallada, which means ‘carved stone’ in a 13th-century Romanesque church dedicated to Sant Esteve (Saint Stephen). The reception and party was minutes away in a village called Pals, where Detallerie found a rural hotel that kept intact the essence of the times when it was an old mill. The bride was getting ready on a white sari with silver accents, which contrasted with her dark skin and modern look. The gown and jewellery were a legacy from her family. Meanwhile, the groom was enjoying the sunny weather with his friends at the pool of a nearby house. With a blue suit and a colorful bow tie. At the ceremony the couple take their vows with their friends and relatives, who received them with a shower of colorful confetti. As newlyweds, the couple enjoyed an outdoor celebration. The sun shone in the sky, trees shades cooled the atmosphere and the guests enjoyed a mediterranean tasty cocktail. At nightfall, the string lights lit up the sky and long tables that we decorated with tropical leaves, colourful flowers and candles welcomed friends and family. Tropical and colourful tables decorated the rural stone hotel. Orchids as place card decorate each seat of every guest. The crockery was delicate chosen with green tones and gold Indian details. A warm atmosphere and a unique environment framed a night of emotional speeches, laughs and tears and, above all, lots of fun!
