Inspiration

This modern warehouse wedding London is a great example of how to save on certain parts of your wedding when you've blown the budget on others. Cantara & Michael found their perfect wedding venue, RMW fave Trinity Buoy Wharf in London and overspent to secure it. They were thrifty finding suits and bridesmaid dresses in the Boohoo sale (at £25 each!) and made elements for the day themselves to compensate. The overall look is certainly not compromised. As well as using RMW The List Member, Captured by Katrina Photography this gorgeous couple used Rock My Wedding to get inspiration on decor for their venue and one of their ceremony readings "I found it so helpful looking at previous Trinity Buoy Wharf weddings on Rock My Wedding to see how they’d dressed the venue with flowers. I discovered “Union” by Robert Fulghum on Rock My Wedding and it was perfect for us and the foundation we’ve built together over the last 10 years." We are so glad we could give you the inspiration you needed to create your perfect day.

Modern Warehouse Wedding London at Trinity Buoy Wharf.

Cantara & Michael: Our style aim was a minimal, industrial, modern warehouse wedding. I was admiring New York Warehouse weddings on Pinterest, saw a picture of Trinity Buoy Wharf and was over the moon to discover it was in London. We did end up going over budget on the venue once we included all the extras, but it was our dream venue so we cut back in other areas to make it work.    We both love monochrome and wanted lots of greenery with copper accents. I designed all the wedding stationery and added copper foiling accents with the help of my Maid of Honour, Izzy Bee Designs. Michael and I made the copper arbour and table plan stand and we added copper accents to the candles.

We found Katrina via Instagram and loved her light, bright, natural photography. Our urban, industrial venue was different from her usual stunning countryside weddings but Katrina was excited to shoot at Trinity Buoy Wharf. Katrina allowed us to be ourselves and slotted in perfectly with our friends and family. She has given us the best wedding photos we could’ve ever wished for!

Using A Friend To Marry You.

The best thing we did was ask one of our best friends, Bakita Kasadha to be the one to marry us. She’s an amazing poet, public speaker and creative writer and has been our friend the entire time we’ve been together, so she was able to write an incredibly personal ceremony for us. It was perfect. We legally married at a registry office, which meant we could have our ceremony exactly how we wanted on the day. We both wrote our own vows and Michael brought us all to tears with his!
