The New Monsoon Bridal Collection

I’ve always seen Monsoon as a really cool older sister, who has travelled the world and brought back all sorts of bohemian, colourful and free-spirited outfits for you to borrow. When you visit a store, you’re greeted with a wash of gorgeous colour, unusual prints, pretty embellishments and fringe detail and you can be sure that the fabrics and the finish of the clothes and accessories are second to none. Almost on a daily basis at RMW HQ we see weddings where the Bridesmaids and little people are head to toe in Monsoon, and often the Mother of the Bride too!

Monsoon is universally loved and is very much a British institution, so we are more than thrilled to announce the launch of Monsoon’s SS16 Bridal collection, available online now and in select stores from January 2016. You can view the collection here on RMW too.

The Wedding Boutique

Renowned for their rich bohemian heritage, Monsoon have been creating free-spirited and stylish womenswear with signature artisanal touches for over four decades. And now their passion for beautiful, unique design is being brought to life for the wedding industry – with their new Wedding Boutique, full of impeccably-crafted pieces for brides-to-be – and for the entire wedding party as you can see in the images.

The Monsoon Bridal Collection

Exclusively designed in London, the coveted collection of bridal gowns showcases traditional, vintage-inspired and contemporary pieces, all expertly-crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail.

The SS16 Collection includes 14 dresses – 8 maxi length and 6 shorter length gowns with prices ranging from a very budget friendly £199- £499.

There are a variety of sleeve lengths to suit everyone and confirming their place as the go-to for Bridal Cover ups, Monsoon have produced a fur and a feather wrap as part of the Bridal Collection too. The collection also includes a full length veil to complete your Bridal look. And for that flawless finish, the exquisite range of bridal shoes, jewellery, and breath-taking hair accessories will complement your dress to perfection.

Every dress is provided with a protective bag, a padded hanger and a complimentary colour matching swatch.

Our Favourite Dresses

Charlotte – I love them all but if I had to choose a gown to wear for myself it would be the Farah, the all over pearl embellishment and embroidery is exquisite and I do love a keyhole back – the beaded edge is so pretty. The 3/4 sleeve is perfect for any season but in particular I would choose if for an Autumnal affair (which after this years sunshine filled fall with all of the beautiful colours is now my favourite!) The dress in terms of general design is timeless in its simplicity but I do adore the addition of the puddle train – subtle yet distinctly bridal.

Lottie – My favourite dress is the Aspen as it is so romantic. I adore the sweetheart neckline coupled with the lace overly. The skirt is super soft and pretty and I just love the sweet little buttons on the back. The long sleeved lace top is perfect for during the ceremony but can be removed to create a second look for evening. I’d probably add a statement necklace to really jazz it up. Heck, maybe even add a belt as the simple silhouette is just perfect for accessorising in your own style.

Fern – My love for long sleeves on Bridal gowns will never cease and so it’s all about the Gianna dress for me. I love that these sleeves have button detailing too and the all-over 70s inspired embroidery is just beautiful. It’s demure, bohemian and feminine all at once and has a slightly French bridal design feel to it too, which is very much en-vogue in the Bridal world at the moment.

Exclusive to SS16

This year the range includes five exclusive Artisan dresses. The Artisan collection features beautiful pieces that have been handmade by craftsmen and women, using traditional techniques passed down through generations. This hand-crafted production brings a unique quality to the collections, while helping to sustain age old crafts – perfect if you’re searching for a high street gown that has heritage.

The Wedding Party

As I mentioned above, we know that Monsoon is a firm favourite for our lovely readers when dressing your Bridesmaids and the little ones, but now there is even more choice available to you – from floor-sweeping maxis to figure-flattering midis and minis, there is a beautiful bridesmaid dress for every member of the bridal party, making them feel every bit as special as they are.

And for the youngest guests in attendance, the flower girl dresses and page boy suits will make sure that they look photo-ready in an instant. Classic with a modern twist, the adorable dresses are bestrewn with sparkling embellishments, lace and layers of tulle, while our smart tuxedos and mix-and-match suit separates have no shortage of personality.

Competition Time

If you love Monsoon as much as we do, make sure you check back tomorrow and keep an eye on our Instagram for a great competition for all past Monsoon brides and bridesmaids.

  1. We live in swansea and want see a bridesmaid and flower girl dress for May daughters wedding. Have tried llanellie and Cardiff, don’t stock them. Bath and swansea closed down. Which stores near me stock the whole bridal collection for us to look at. Your designs are unique and lovely but very difficult to look at.
