Inspiration

Naked tipis and boho wedding inspiration go hand in hand, just like this wonderful concept taking place at Jervaulx Abbey. Adding to its beauty are dried flower installations, beautiful tablescapes and an adorable altar. Just wait until you see the naked tipi lit up during dusk too, just magical.

VISION

Dried flowers and earthy tones paired seamlessly with this years Pantone colour of the year – Living Coral.

INSPIRATION & STYLING

"I wanted to bring tonnes of detail to every element of this shoot, I used hand died muslin napkins and beautiful hand died silk ribbons to make a feature of the cutlery and crockery for both the dinner setting and the gorgeous dessert table. By shooting into the evening we were able to capture the Abbey looking it’s absolute best with day to night looks and capture some of that magical golden hour light. The Abbey is the oldest privately owned Abbey in the UK, lovingly caretaken by the Burdon family. - Jen Sawdon Mckay

JERVAULX ABBEY

"Jervaulx Abbey is a perfect location for a relaxed wedding with an incredible backdrop and endless photo opportunities for our couples. This shoot shows the venue in perfect style, capturing the natural light and the versatility of this venue. When the sun set and the fire pits were lit, with the desserts table looking so beautiful, that for me was the perfect ending to a magnificent days shoot" - Abbey

Naked Tipi

We just love naked tipis, be that a large structure guests can dine or lounge under, or a smaller structure perfect as an altar backdrop. They always enhance their setting but allow the natural beauty of the location to shine through. We've featured some absolute beauties in the past. Search our archives to see them now.

WEDDING PLANNER

"As a wedding planner my favourite part of any wedding is the love. Often in shoots when you use professional models you lose that sense of romance. Our real (and gorgeous) couple are so in love and it oozed out of them both all day long, that’s how our husband and wife photography team managed to capture such natural and romantic portraits on the day." - Jen Sawdon Mckay

CAKES

"We knew the exact theme we wanted the desserts table to be. With lots of mini treats, just ready to be picked up and eaten. A relaxed and jaw-dropping table with small attention to detail, like the pressed flowers on the cookies to compliment the natural surroundings. Using dried flowers and popular flavours, keeping this idea up to date. Our favourite part, apart from everyone coming together perfectly, was right at the end with the candlelit corner and the stars and the moon, so magical" - Gayle

Living coral, pampas grass and dried flowers are three of the hottest trends to come out of 2019. What do think will be hot for 2020?
