Inspiration

This rustic barn wedding, filled with gorgeous details and Caribbean influenced music and food choices will definitely put a big smile on your face. Partly because Natalie and Callem didn't stop smiling all day and their joy is infectious, and partly because everything just looks SO beautiful. The styling is perfect for this barn wedding venue, I love how the neutral toned bridesmaids dresses pair with the brown groomsmen suits too. Total boho wedding goals. Images come from the fabulous Ania Ames, whose work we've featured several times here on RMW. In fact once you've enjoyed Natalie and Callem's day, you can browse Ania's work here. She has a magical way with light, as you're about to see...

The Bride

Natalie the Bride: I didn’t want anything too traditional and wanted to keep it as natural as I could. I tried on around 10 different dresses all different shapes and styles. I knew as soon as I tried my dress on it was the one. It was simple yet elegant. As my hair is so big and curly I knew a veil just wouldn’t complement my style. I decided to go with more of a natural updo look with a ear climber to complement.

The Groom

Callem wanted more of a trendy not traditional look. He went with Brown tweed to complement our summer country look. He had tight fitted trousers and trendy brogue shoes. He went with a short sleeved shirt so he could embrace his tattoos along with braces.

The Venue

The venue was perfect. We searched high and low for a venue that would allow you to put your own personal stamp on it. The terms are you hire the barn and you can do whatever you want to it! Setting was just incredible. It was just like our own summer party which is all we wanted. We wanted a relaxed location with all the people we loved to have a good time.

The Decor

There was no set colour scheme with our wedding. As you can see from the Bridesmaids we had a good mix match of colours. We just wanted a summer country look and that's what we created! We arranged all of the decor ourselves. We spent the full day decorating and making centerpieces. I saved up glass jars and bottles over 18 months to make the pretty decorations. All we had to do was add the flowers, fairy lights and tea lights! Flowers again a natural country look for our country location.

The Wedding Party

Bridesmaids I decided to have a different range of colours to suit everyone. It was difficult to find one colour to suit all...So why not have a selection?! I wanted a natural look on the hair so a natural wave with a pretty braid and flowers worked perfectly. The flower girl the same. Groomsmen again we wanted a smart casual look. They had a green tweed and even wore chinos!

The Ceremony

Callem's sister Tara wrote her own reading for the church. It was incredible and we had so many compliments on it. She did a great job! It pretty much summed us up as a couple.

The Entertainment

The steel pan band was a request by Callem. With his family being from Barbados we really wanted a Caribbean touch to the day. The guests loved it! Help yourself drink station and the Caribbean vibes in the sunshine!

The Food

Again we wanted a Caribbean theme. With both of our favourite foods being Caribbean it would only be right to serve Jerk chicken and curried goat on our wedding day! Canapes again were Caribbean influenced. Ice Cream cart to follow for pudding! Cupcakes ranged from Strawberry and presecco, Gin and Tonic and even a Caribbean chocolate rum! Delicious.

The Photography

Ania...well what can I say. She was AMAZING from start to finish. Never did we feel awkward or embarrassed in front of the camera. Her personality reflects her talent. I look back at my photos everyday still and every single one I love. I do not have enough walls in my home to frame them all! The way she works is incredible. Capturing every emotion on the day and also all natural shots. This was very important to us as we didn’t want anything too cheesy or formal. She hit the nail right on the head! We now have these amazing memories forever.
