Inspiration

Today's wedding is the perfect example of modern elegance. Every detail is beautiful and sophisticated, but the styling feels minimal and not overly fussy, making it feel really contemporary. Hats off to Natalie and Scott for creating such a visually striking wedding day. Lots of our favourite suppliers were involved in this lovely wedding day, including the talented calligrapher Kayleigh Tarrant who you'll find on our recommended supplier directory, The List. Images come from Nick at Parkershots, whose relaxed style is just perfect for this gorgeous day. I have a feeling you're going to love this one, so let's get started shall we?

The Proposal

Scott and I met on New Year's Eve at a club in Richmond. He used his charm and charisma to land himself a first date and we never looked back. He popped the question in 2015 at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Through the snot and tears there was a big YES! I had never been one of those girls that dreamt of her wedding with a binder to match so we had one hell of a mountain to climb.

The Venue

We only saw a handful of venues but when we saw Northbrook Park it stole our hearts. The walled gardens and grade two listed building was the perfect backdrop for what we wanted. White Truffle Events are the preferred caterers at Northbrook park. After talking with one of their coordinators we had total faith and knew we didn't need to look anywhere else. They were very every flexible and were only too happy to help in creating exactly what we wanted for our canapés and wedding breakfast.

The Details

We had our invitations printed by Strawberry Sorbet, a contemporary letter press company. And that is exactly what they gave us, traditional letter press but with a modern twist. Our place settings were hand written by Kayleigh Tarrant.  The incredibly talent team at AESME studio created the outstanding florals for our day. I wanted subtle elegance. I didn't want the flowers to look too staged or manicured and this is what they clearly do best! Ally Nutting capture everything I wanted in her design brief and I had total faith from the every start.

The Cakes

Andi Freeman of Andi Freeman Cakes made our delicious cake trio. We had three separate cakes and three different flavours. Carrot, lemon and the classic Victoria sponge. Both myself and Scott love a cup of tea and slice of cake and we wanted everyone to have something they would enjoy.  I was inspired by my mum and dads wedding cake and rather than having the tiers stacked the cakes were layout out separately. Mum originally got the idea from an image in her grandmother’s cookbook.  I love the fact that we could include such personal details like this.

The Entertainment

We found James our fantastic singer on the internet. I wanted everything to flow and live music alway helps, especially when they are as good as James!

The Bride

I had no idea what I wanted my dress to be so I booked to visit Miss Bush in Ripley, where my mum had got her wedding dress. I visited twice before finally settling on the Maggie Sottero dress that I wore. But my favourite thing I wore was my handcrafted headpiece by Lila. Outstanding craftsmanship and beautiful design. Perfection! Antonia of Elle Au Natural did my hair and make up and I have never felt so beautiful! Her knowledge and warm personality had me completely relaxed (even when I changed my mind on my hair the morning of the wedding! Oops!) She is fantastic, I can't thank her enough!

The Groom

Scott wore a blue Reiss suit with brown Russell & Bromley shoes and matching belt. The grooms men wore their own navy suits and Reiss ties.

The Photography

I was taken back by just how beautiful Nick’s work is. I am so happy with the images and they really do capture the fun and laughter of our day. Nick captured so many wonderful moments but at no point did it feel like he was intruding. I would recommend him to everyone. I can't thank him enough.
