Inspiration

The bride looked beautiful in a lace cape with blush bridesmaids and bouquet at this Norfolk barn wedding. A classic wedding which was kicked off with a church ceremony but had a twist of contemporary with the customised neon lights. Long trestle tables were littered with foliage and candles and sat on Persian rugs. A dedicated children's area kept the kids out of mischief, meaning all the guests could just relax and enjoy the special day. The bridal cape was a last-minute addition to the bride's outfit and what a good choice it was, deciding on the cover-up instead of a traditional veil, the lace cape was shorter at the front and longer at the back and made such a statement over the minimalist Sassi Holford wedding dress!

WHAT MADE OUR DAY UNIQUE

"We knew we wanted our day to reflect us, so it was important that it had lots of personal touches. I did the place names myself and my dad made a wooden frame to hang our personalised banner from. Having two children, we knew our guests would be grateful if their children were kept occupied and entertained, so we used one of the "nooks" at Sussex Barn as a children's area with a tipi, crafts, toys and dress up. This was a huge hit! Our food was things we genuinely LOVE and eat all the time; the sharing starters made the wedding breakfast really sociable and interactive and we had our wedding cake for dessert." - Aimi & Chris

Norfolk Barn Wedding

This Norfolk barn wedding venue was the perfect choice for this couple's big day who wanted a relaxed vibe. Decked out with some DIY decor and personalised signs, the venue was completely transformed to suit the couple down to a T. Food was a big part of the day, with sharing platters to start and wedding cake for dessert - the wedding cake table was lit up by a love heart neon sign! This celebration was the perfect mixture of old/traditional and new/contemporary!

INSPIRATION & STYLING

"We wanted our day to have a relaxed vibe and for our guests to feel totally at ease - almost not like a wedding! We knew we wanted to move away from traditional and for the styling and décor not to look too polished, with a focus on lots of natural elements. We had long wooden trestle tables adorned with foliage, lots of candles, Persian rugs and two neon signs. The textures and variety of flowers contrasted perfectly against the brick of Sussex Barn. I did all the styling (whilst "directing" my amazing mum and sisters - one of my sisters spent two hours knotting napkins!) and it was the best feeling seeing everything come together and knowing we'd done it ourselves." - Aimi & Chris
