Inspiration

Glitter balls, pampas grass and seasonal tones littered the venue for this October wedding at Cripps Barn in Gloucestershire. The cosy, romantic ceremony in the rustic barn was lit up with candles as the couple said their vows under a hanging dried flower display with glitter balls to add a bit of sparkle. The bride always knew she wanted a dress with pockets and that's exactly what she had, looking beautiful in a Jesus Peiro off the rack, open back bridal gown. The couple wanted traditional but with a twist, something that incorporated their love of music and dancing, that brought the guests together and where the laughter didn't stop, and that definitely happened - even if they had to find a replacement band the night before!

What Made Our Day Unique

Laughter from the get-go! Everything about our wedding really spoke about who we are and how we are, and this set the atmosphere of the day. From the cement textured cake, to disco ball favours - we opted for things with a slight twist. We really thought about how the day would flow, bringing people together as much as possible so we concentrated on what’s important: good food, good drinks, good music and the rest followed. Not everything ran smoothly (finding a replacement band the night before!) but it didn't matter because there was so much love and laughter throughout the day - it was electrifying.

October Wedding

The colour palette for the day reflected the changing of seasons at this October wedding - with neutrals, browns and burgundy the key shades for the day! From the brown bridesmaid dresses to the beautiful floral displays of fresh and dried flowers with pampas grass created by the incredible Jasper & Quinn - one of our handpicked suppliers - everything felt super Autumnal at the Gloucestershire barn venue.

Inspiration & Styling

We met at a festival and love to get up and dance, so disco was a big inspiration for us but wanted to keep it sophisticated. Being an October wedding, we drew on the changing colours of the season, bringing it inside by incorporating burgundies, oranges, yellows and whites into our flower arrangements and bridal party outfits. Our florist Jasper and Quinn did an incredible job creating a statement centrepiece hanging disco balls with a mix of fresh and dried flowers, which enhanced the colours of the hoop and produced beautiful reflections when the light bounced off them. This was perfect for our day to night celebrations, which all took place in the same room.

Cripps Barn in Gloucestershire is one of our handpicked suppliers and you can definitely see why - the rustic venue has bags of character with exposed beams and brick that can be decorated to create a super cosy wedding, just like this November celebration with greenery, candles and amazing foliage chandelier!
