Inspiration

A lovely relaxed city celebration with a One Friendly Place wedding reception. Having lots of friends and family involved was important to this stylish couple, so decor including the cake and the wedding stationery were a labour of love from the couple's nearest and dearest and a chance for them to get creative! The bride looked stunning in an off the shoulder Grace Loves Lace dress which was teamed with a delicate floral headpiece to match the other wedding flowers that brought some colour to the days proceedings!

What Made Our Day Unique

Getting married was so much more than the wedding day for us, it was all about our marriage. This meant that our wedding day was a chance to get all of the people we love in the same room and have a big party. We wanted everyone to feel included, special and to know how much they mean to us. We knew that we wanted the day to totally reflect us and so that meant that it definitely wouldn't be formal! I love looking back at our beautiful photos (shout out to our amazing photographer Rebecca from A Thing Like That) remembering all of the hard work that went into that day from so many of our friends and family.

One Friendly Place Wedding

The religious ceremony was followed by a stunning celebration at the One Friendly Place wedding reception - an event studio in London. Orange and yellow flowers littered the tables, held in old wine bottles. The simple but beautiful flowers were accompanied by foliage that the bride and groom had foraged themselves in the park that they had their first date - what a lovely sentiment!

Inspiration & Styling

We wanted the vibe of our day to be fun, relaxed and inclusive. We loved that our venue meant that there were different spaces with different things to do so that everyone could find a spot that they liked. The ground floor was loud with lots of dancing, the middle floor had games and comfy sofas and upstairs was a chilled quieter area. We wanted to bring the outside in and combine our love for London and green spaces. We foraged all of our greenery from our favourite park in South London where we had our first date.

Advice

The only part that you need to do is the Vows and everything else is totally up to you. You don't have to spend loads of money to have a day that you both love. Before we started planning, we decided what was most important to us and we agreed to have fun! We wanted to remember the real reason why we were getting married rather than getting wrapped up in planning. Reminding ourselves of this helped us to stay present and made us enjoy the process even more. Your wedding is a celebration of your relationship and that means it can be as creative as you like. Enjoy!
