Inspiration

Hours of love and labour by the bride and her mother were poured into creating this beautiful homemade lace wedding dress that was teamed with a gorgeous blush orchid bouquet and veil. Before the outdoor ceremony, the couple had an intimate first look where the groom got to see his bride in her gorgeous bespoke dress for the first time, they then went on to say their vows in front of their closest friends and family in the gardens of a picturesque villa in Italy with pampas grass decor and rustic chic, etheral elements. As a wedding planner herself, this bride wanted to make the most of the time with her loved ones, so they choose to celebrate not just for one day, but for 6 days, which of course meant even more great memories, good food and a lot of wine!

What Made Our Day Unique

I think what made our day unique is it was actually more than a day. We stayed at Villa Tombolina with our guests for about a week. I work as a wedding planner myself and it is always a little sad to me that you only get about 6 hours to spend celebrating such a big occasion. We spent at least 6 days together! Celebrating, Eating, Drinking Wine, all leading up to our wedding day! My beautiful dress was handmade by my Mom, Karen Glavan. Can you believe it!? We went together to purchase the lace and as the year went on we worked on it little be little. She spent hours and days and weeks sewing all the lace details on. It is a work of art! And it is so special to have worn a dress with so much love in it.

Orchid Bouquet

Soft neutral tones complemented the Italian landscape, with a blush orchid bouquet and mismatched bridesmaid dresses. Pampas grass was scattered throughout the day decorating the outdoor ceremony space and the long banquet tables at the wedding breakfast. A close family friend was the private chef for the occasion and the candlelit alfresco dinner was served in Villa Tombolina gardens under festoon lighting looking over the gorgeous views - there was even a swan ice sculpture!

Inspiration & Styling

The vibe of our day was romanticism, softness, ethereal elegance. I went towards the soft colors even though it was fall. And didn't shy away from the pink/blush. It all seemed like a fairy-tale. It was also such a pleasure to have our Family Friend, Brian Wood. as our private Chef for the week and the wedding. He went above and beyond and made every meal so special. The wedding dinner was stunning and absolutely delicious. Again, a part of our wedding day with a lot of love in it.
