Inspiration

An Oxfordshire barn wedding venue played host to this sentimental celebration with neutral & gold decor, a fairy light canopy and the couples favourite flowers hanging at the altar. Personal touches were scattered throughout, including a doughnut wall that the bride's father lovingly built, which they had in place of a traditional wedding cake along with delicious personalised Laduree macaron favours. And they didn't stop there, with heartfelt sentimental vows that the bride and groom had written themselves, homemade go-pro hats for guests to wear in the evening instead of a photobooth and polaroid photos of guests on their place settings, there wasn't an aspect of this wedding that hadn't been carefully considered and you can totally tell! The couple had their marital name lit up in neon lights and their very own programme, The Harvey Times, that introduced everyone to the wedding party - such a cool idea!

What Made Our Day Unique

Each element had a personal touch or meaning behind it, even if guests didnt realise, we knew. We decided to story tell us, rather than get caught up on a theme or look. The Harvey Times (order of service with a modern twist) with our favourite flowers hanging behind us during the ceremony & meal, creating our own wedding breakfast menu & drinks menu, scented candles, our own styling, homemade playful "guest hat go pros" for the evening instead of a photobooth we couldnt afford, photos of each guest on their place setting, the rug from our dining room to stand on during our vows to forever take us back to that moment. All of these touches made every part of the day feel like it had our stamp on it.

Oxforshire Barn Wedding

Stratton Court was the perfect Oxfordshire Barn wedding venue for this couple's celebration, keeping things intimate the barn provided the perfect backdrop to their sentimental day. The bride looked stunning in a minimalist, thin strap, Sassi Holford wedding dress alongside her bridal party who wore blue Rewritten bridesmaids dresses. And of course, we definitely can't forget the dashing groom who chose a dapper tweed jacket and waistcoat, rocking up to his big day with his best men in Discovery with a personalised number plate especially for the new Mr & Mrs! And all this was captured by the very talented Michelle Wood!

Inspiration & Styling

The vibe we were going for was relaxed, "undone but together". We wanted it to be mnodern & playful but with nods at tradition. We wanted it a bit indie with natural tones throughout with golds, whites & greens.

We are big fans of a doughnut wall, especially if a relative has spent a lot of time making it for your special day like Ashleigh's dad, so thoughtful! It can take a long time to make one (it took this Dad a few Sundays to put together this beauty), so we have put together a how to DIY your own doughnut wall in less than 5 minutes and still look amazing! Enjoy you lovely lot! rock my wedding forum
