What Made Our Day Unique
We tried to blend our favourite traditions from our respective British and American families. We chose a beautiful English country house, but also found space for a more intimate rehearsal dinner, to thank those who had travelled from far away. We added a speech from the American sister-of-the-bride who brought everyone to tears, and then celebrated Joel’s Northern Irish roots by dancing into the night with a ceilidh.
Oxfordshire Wedding Venue
With both the Bride and Groom being book editors, this Oxfordshire wedding venue helped create an old-world library vibe. The ceremony space, wedding breakfast and reception space were set amongst the splendid grand interiors of Kirtlington Park with gorgeous flowers littered around the venue. Gold detail flowed throughout with Jo Malone candles lit to scent the day!Inspiration & Styling
We both work as book editors, and we wanted to create a romantic old-world library vibe. The stationery was inspired by old books (and the menu had a ‘beginning’, ‘middle’ and an ‘end’ rather than the usual course names), while we used lots of candles to light the space, which worked perfectly on a dark November evening.
