What Made Our Day Unique

"From the outset we knew that we wanted a venue by the sea. We live by the sea, Drew proposed by the sea and so we wanted to get married right by it. Bembridge was the obvious choice for us - my family beach hut is there and we have so many happy memories on Forelands beach. Including Drew’s proposal! My family is from the Island and we try and go regularly. While on the hunt for somewhere unique my sister came across Westcliff. Westcliff is a stunning pink house with lawns that run into the sea. It had never been used as a wedding venue, but through Harrison Bristow, we contacted the owner and asked whether we had their blessing to have our marquee reception there. We are so happy they said yes – Westcliff is now part of our family history and we cannot wait to return.

Inspiration & Styling

So much of our styling was influenced by my brother in law, who co-owns and runs Bison Bison graphic design. We shared our vision with him – ocean colours, island motifs and clean, modern design. Using our ideas he created the most beautiful wedding invitations for us along with the seating plan, food and bar menus. For the tables we used Bison Bison’s menu and matched it with a scallop shell, a sprig of rosemary and simple kraft paper luggage tags, handwritten for place names.
