I can’t think of a better way to start a Monday morning than with our Brides vibrant pink hydrangea bouquet, it just pops out at you and you can’t help but smile. The fact that it was made by the Grooms Father just makes it even more special.
Talking of special Pricilla and John’s adorable children & Niece almost steal the show, they are such cute Flower Girl’s & Page Boy and look so adorable in their mini Mum & Dad outfits. Of course when I say almost it’s because the new Mr & Mrs look so classically elegant. Pricilla’s chic chignon up do is literally perfection!
As well as looking absolutely stunning Priscilla’s clever crafting, innovative flair and a little help from Pinterest inspired her to create the most delightful white & pink ombre themed wedding stationery which was then duplicated in the gorgeous wedding cake.
This is a truly beautiful Dutch wedding full of colour, love & family.
Priscilla The Bride: I had a romantic and classy look in mind. After trying on about 20 dresses I fell for the Cymbeline dress. It was beautiful and comfortable without any boning etc. I didn’t like the original ribbon around the middle. I had it removed and have been searching for a small belt with a gold tone. In shops I only found silver accessories but I actually wanted accessories with a gold tone. Eventually I found these nice accessories on Etsy, they were made in Israel. My jewellery had to be made of real gold so I can give them to my Daughter on her special day. The jewellery was custom made in New York and shipped to my friend Lindsey in New York.
I have tried many shoes and exchanged several pairs. They had to be comfortable and yet stunning. My Georgia Rose shoes were perfect!
The Grooms Attire
John only made one stop in one store to buy his suit and accessories. He has been searching for the perfect shoes for a while. On our wedding day he was getting ready at his parents. He had everything packed but no underwear. Our Brother-in-Law had to bring him some. I had to choose some from his underwear closet and just picked the top one.. Popeye boxers! Hilarious!
I had the dream of getting married outside. We have visited several venues with a option for an outside wedding and a nice inside option. We fell in love with Villa Oldenhoff instantly. It is very close to Amsterdam and yet in the countryside. The décor is beautiful and we had the option to stay the night. Unfortunately the weather was rainy but the inside option was a good plan B!
We have chosen pink with a touch of gold as theme color. We had a lot of DIY decoration with a vintage feel. I designed our invitations and the photo booth sign. I have hand stamped all name signs and painted the wooden wedding signs and ring holder.
All flowers and bouquets were made by my Father-in-Law. I only told him the colors I liked, he actually picked the flowers. Because my Father passed away 4 months before the wedding I decided to honour him by adding his photo to my bouquet. It was nice to keep him close on this special day.
Flower Girls and Pageboy
The dresses for our flower girls had to match my lace dress. I brought the dresses at Marks and Spencer. Our one year old Daughter was one of our Flower Girls. Our three year old Son was dressed in a Zara suit, a Calvin Klein tie and casual Converse All Stars (nice and comfortable!).
We didn’t want to get married in a registry office as we wanted something more personal. We shared our ceremony with 50 guests. It was intimate and emotional. We both had written lovely vows. John walked down the aisle with our Daughter Vajèn followed by our Son Kyan and our Niece Kailin. I was walked down the aisle by my Uncle Rudi. The music was really hard to choose especially the last song! I walked down the aisle to “Thousand Years” by The Piano Guys. While signing the documents “Perfect Kiss” by Marie Hines was played. We left the room with “This will be” by Natalie Cole out of the sound system.
Our children were part of the ceremony as well. They got to sign our wedding document with a nice rubber stamp.
We had Mickey and Minnie as day entertainment for the kids. In the evening we had a DJ with a saxophonist. This combination rocked!
We knew we wanted a relaxed feel for the dinner with tasty food made from fresh products of the season. The food was served on wooden plates on the table. It all tasted lovely!
On Pinterest I fell in love with ombre wedding cakes and dessert tables. I ordered the ombre cream cake in our theme colour coral. It was yummie! We had 5 cakes for desserts. Our guest were asked to scoop as much as they liked.
Nadine van der Wielen has done several shoots for us prior to our wedding. Family shoots and shots of handbags I have designed. While planning our wedding we were looking for suppliers who actually felt like friends. Without any hesitation we asked Nadine to shoot our wedding. We love her work and her personality.
First we had our doubts whether or not to hire a videographer. After seeing the videos of Avisha Film we were convinced we had to hire Eljada. A young creative woman with great ideas and even better video’s.
