Inspiration

This classic English wedding is the sort of day little girls dream of (and the sort of occasion I dream of hosting for my own children; just got to get the country house, and the children, first...). The glass marquee blends beautifully into the lush garden setting of the groom's family home, with a gorgeous hanging garland cascading from the roof. The boho luxe features are styled exquisitely in this space, and I particularly adore the gold cutlery and gold rimmed glassware; little touches really do make all the difference. With fireworks and sparklers sending our newlyweds off into the night, this glorious garden celebration will have you dreaming of halcyon summer days. Enjoy.

HANGING GARLAND

We chose a green and white theme for the florals, to keep things quite classic. Liz from Blue Sky Flowers created a garland that hung between the chandeliers in the marquee, and the beautiful centrepieces that matched our tables so well. My favourite piece, however, was my bouquet; I love that it was slightly wild whilst still being structured. - Emma & Will

Glass Marquee at Family Home

Will's parents live in the English countryside, surrounded by trees. They have a beautiful garden with multiple greenhouses, so we chose to have a glass marquee that almost looked like an extension of the house. Whilst the marquee itself was quite modern, we wanted a slight rustic tone to the day, and decided to have long wooden banqueting tables and cross back chairs to match.

WEDDING FEAST

We wanted simple food and flavours that tasted delicious. Our wedding planner, Louise, introduced us to Kalm Kitchen, who we fell in love with straight away. They presented the canapés on beautiful mirrors and in bird cages, followed by charcuterie sharing platters for everyone when we first sat down in the marquee. Being from New Zealand, I wanted to make sure we had little Kiwi touches throughout the wedding day, so worked with Kalm Kitchen to source NZ Lamb for our main dish, as well as pairing it with NZ red and white wines. A traditional wedding cake was not particularly important to us, so we decided to have a dessert table with three mini options to choose from, along with a one tier gold flaked lemon drizzle cake from Fifi’s Cakery. We didn’t actually eat the cake on the night, so shared it the next day at a BBQ with our friends and family – hands down the best cake we have ever tasted! - Emma & Will

This quintessential country wedding is proof that, when the weather is right (and, to be honest, even when it's not), England is utterly enchanting and there truly is no place like home.
