Planning

We all know that the Great British weather can never be relied on, but there's really no point in worrying about the rain - trust us, we've featured lots of rainy day weddings and it hasn't dampened peoples spirits in the slightest and the Bride and Groom have still had the best day of their lives. Plus there are fabulous solutions like these stylish umbrellas and stands from Brolly Bucket. Providing umbrella hire for weddings, we think they are the perfect way to ease your mind when it comes to what the weather may do on your big day.

The Shoot

My aim in planning this shoot was to create a crisp, clean shoot which captured the lovely details of a wedding day. To be able to catch the delicate details and to keep the shoot as simple as possible, I designed the wedding for two. This allowed all the elements to shine and be the main focus. The shoot was held in my north Glasgow Brollybucket studio 'The Old Shed' which is a haven of reclaimed pieces and industrial touches. This setting, along with a slightly moody choice of edit, created the feeling of an 'industrial' venue. It was important to me that this shoot told a story and was part of a creative process. The roots of this shoot started with my initial idea and on Pinterest. We shot 'behind the scenes' showing some of the collaborating suppliers at work, doing what they do best and of course the shoot itself.

Umbrella Hire for Weddings

Brolly Bucket opened online in 2011, following a year of people borrowing the umbrellas I had bought for my own wedding! It was this unexpected, high demand for 'borrowing' that created the concept and idea behind our Umbrella Hire Service. Having sourced white umbrellas to use at my wedding. I decided that it would be lovely to use them as part of our wedding decor, I wanted to use them to flank the archway leading into the church. I tasked myself with finding lovely, modern umbrella stands which would look bridal and elegant. I failed. I could not source such stands. My creative side, would not be defeated, so I designed my own and commissioned a company to produce them for me. The brolly bucket was born! The beautiful cylindrical, acrylic umbrella stands looked fabulous. The umbrellas stood proudly inside, on display, waiting to be used.
