Inspiration

The theme for this outdoor wedding was romantic boho, which I think Bethany and Stephen have absolutely nailed with the use of dried grasses, protea flowers and velvet bridesmaids dresses. Amongst all this pretty is the pièce de résistance, Bethany's Rime Arodaky gown which is embroidered with delicate flowers, and complements the floral decor beautifully. You'll probably want to get your pinning fingers ready for the DIY copper geometric shapes too. They look immense hanging from the barn reception ceiling.

What Made Our Day Unique

We wanted to create a relaxed wedding where we were surrounded by the people we love. I think what made our day unique was the DIY elements and my love for flowers. I always wanted to have a wedding that was filled with an abundance of flowers, something that felt like you were walking through a meadow! By adding all of these elements it made the venue really special and unique to us as a couple.

Rime Arodaky

There is no denying Bethany's Rime Arodaky gown is killer! The delicate applique bodice and train look stunning and are perfect for this romantic boho wedding with incredible floral arrangements. Her bridesmaids also look incredible in velvet dresses, matching the tones of the proteas perfectly. Together they are pure bridal party goals.

Inspiration & Styling

I have always loved the relaxed bohemian style weddings. So, this was my biggest inspiration but tailoring it more towards our own style. I wanted to create a soft romantic feel with a focus on details. I loved the aesthetic that blush and yellow created against the drama of the flowers. It still created an impact without being too over the top. I love the attention to detail, so I continued our colours through the tablescape and into the bridesmaid and groomsmen's fashion.

Diy Projects

Through many hours of trawling Pinterest, I saw a lot of hanging decorations. We had the idea of having geometric shapes hanging from the beams of the barn. Well, my idea was to hire these shapes, my husband, on the other hand, had the idea to make these ourselves! I am always apprehensive with DIY projects. They always sound like a good idea but don’t always go so smoothly! Nevertheless, we decided to do it ourselves. We also created all the wedding signs, menus, place names and table plans. It was epic!! After many hours, blood, sweat and a lot of tears we managed to create all the details that we loved. Even though at times I hated it, looking back this was actually the best part and seeing how it all came together on the day brings a smile to my face and really personalised the day for us.

Favourite Moments

I don't think I can put down one moment! For both of us walking down the aisle was incredibly special. Walking arm in arm with my dad and seeing Stephen at the end of the aisle, all our friends and family felt very emotional. Also sneaking off with the photographers to take our couple portraits. It can be an overwhelming day, with all eyes on you. These private moments, just the two of you gives you a nice breather and a moment to yourselves. However the piece de resistance was seeing the beautiful flowers created by Hannah was just incredible, she is a true talent!
