A short while ago Charlotte took a little journey through the 2011 Rock My Wedding vaults and shared a few of her faves. You can see that post here if you missed out – but beware, you are in for some serious pretty!
Now, with only a few days left of the year I thought I’d better get in with my own retrospective celebration – before it’s too late. I must say it’s hard to pick out favourites so I’m not going to call them that – rather what we have here is an eclectic mix of love, laughter, imagination and inspiration. The tip of an iceberg that represents a fantastically diverse year in wedding land.
What we have here is the perfect wedding reception venue combined with a theme and colour scheme that felt so natural and merged so seemlessly with the location.
I love London. Love it. So when I discovered this venue with its roof top views of the city and a roof that actually lifts off, I quickly became more than a little bit enamoured by the whole event.
Take a trip back to the rooftops of London here.
This was the wedding of one of our RMW Real Brides. I have chosen this one because at the time I said it was the best wedding report I had ever read… and I still think it’s going to be a tough one to beat. Loads of super cool details, including that biker jacket… and of course it’s not every day that one of our featured brides has her make-up done by Charlotte Church!
I love a destination wedding, and this was one with a difference – no Groom!
resembling the look of an A-list celebrity party rather more than traditional wedding, Jenny and Kelly got married at Amante Beach Club in Ibiza. Fantastic dresses and fashion in general, gorgeous bespoke stationery and show stopping photography.
Here we have Modern Elegance in a nutshell – An Ian Stewart Dress, Amanda Wakeley veil up top, Louboutins down below… need I go on?
Vintage influences, peach, pink, lilac and spring green florals, and Kensington roof gardens… are you spotting the theme here – London, roof tops… I’m like a child in a sweet shop. Oh, and through in a springing of Christian Ward Photography and you are really at the business end of W-day splendour.
The great outdoors. The British countryside. Rustic charm. This farmyard wedding has it all.
From the outdoor ceremony to the overnight camping arrangements, this is rustic romance at its best.
Have I saved the Best till last? Yes I have.
It’s my favourite RMW wedding ever, and I know it’s a firm favourite with you lot too… even to the length of it being pointed out that Charlotte had missed off Dan The Man from her 2011 round-up as she knew I would want it on mine. Little did you folks know that I too was to do a 2011 retrospective post and I’d already baggsied this breath taking destination wedding for myself. Mister Phill was lucky enough to be invited out to Vejer de la Frontera to shoot this wedding wonder.
If you have not read this report yet, you simply must – It was written by the groom which was an Rock My Wedding first and it is truly brilliant. I’ll say no more about it.
Well there you go, I’m so sure I have missed some absolute corkers off my list – it’s so hard to remember all the pretty when you look at it all day long!
Hopefully there are a few happy memories for you here and maybe a new find for some of our more recent followers.
Please do let me know if you have found some inspiration in today’s 2011 recap – and also shout out any fantastic weddings that Charlotte and I have missed, and we’ll set some links up in the comments section. And remember you can see Chalrlottes 2011 round up here.
Here is to an equally pretty 2012!
