If you're not jetting off on your honeymoon immediately after your wedding day, why not consider a mini moon here in the UK? It's the perfect thing to look forward to while you're on that unavoidable post-wedding-day-come-down. Time and time again, Brides advise not to go straight back to work following your big day, as it's just too much of a shock to the system. Having a lovely stay booked in a beautiful hotel is definitely one way to soften the blow ;) The Fistral Beach Hotel is the perfect place to do that. Just seconds from the UKs most iconic beach, close to lots of lovely places to visit, world-class places to eat, and with views of the sunsets over the ocean - it's a very romantic spot.

Cornwall is a beautiful county, the beaches are simply stunning, there are lovely places to visit and there are more foodie hotspots than you can shake the Good Food Guide at. The Fistral Beach Hotel is just outside of Newquay, away from the lively town, with a view of the Atlantic Ocean that takes your breath away.

The Rooms

Decorated with a coastal vibe, the rooms are spacious and airy and boast impressively sized bathrooms, which is always a treat. There are no endless corridors of identical rooms either, with just 71 in total, and each one different to the next, The Fistral Beach Hotel certainly has a boutique feel. All of the rooms have luxurious ESPA toiletries and a fluffy robe and slippers are provided too. In the summer, you even get a free pair of sunglasses! For the ultimate romantic break, book the suite. It has a triple balcony, with incredible views across the ocean and a private hot tub. The perfect place to watch the sun go down over the ocean while sipping champagne.

The Spa

The spa at The Fistral Beach Hotel is so tranquil, tucked away from lively bar and restaurant, there's a heated vitality pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, plus nine blissful treatment rooms, including a couples treatment room, where you will be transported to a world of total relaxation. The pool area can even be hired out privately by couples on honeymoon. The Little Fistral Spa is the onsite hair and nail salon, so you can treat yourself to a blow dry or manicure before dinner and drinks. And if you fancy a workout while you're there, the gym is very impressively sized and equipped for a hotel. With cleverly cut out windows, you can enjoy some greenery without feeling like everyone is watching you sweat. (Or alternatively, you could just send your other half there while you enjoy being pampered). The gym and spa are free to use for guests. A 10% discount is also offered on all treatments booked by guests, so there are no excuses...a massage is a must.

The Restaurant & Bar

The Dune Restaurant serves the very best of Cornish cuisine, so you'll find lots of delicious fish dishes on the menu, as well as steaks, burgers and freshly made pasta. Or why not treat yourselves to afternoon tea? The view from the restaurant and bar is so beautiful, it seems criminal not to make the most of it at any given opportunity. All washed down with a cold glass of Prosecco or a yummy cocktail of course.

The Beach

The stunning Fistral Beach is literally on your doorstep. It's perfect for every type of beach lover - whether you like lounging in the sun, paddling in the shallows, walking on the coastal path, or riding the waves. It's so close to the hotel in fact, that you can hear the sound of the sea from your bed - I'm not sure it gets any more relaxing than that. If you'd like to try surfing, you can book lessons and hire equipment from the Quicksilver Surf School at The Esplanade Hotel along the road (sister hotel to The Fistral Beach Hotel).

The Hotel

The Fistral Beach Hotel is a family owned business and the staff are lovely, helpful and really happy (which I guess is inevitable if you live that close to the beach). And this laidback vibe will most definitely rub off - your schedule will be based on tide times and sunsets before you know it. They are willing to go beyond the norm to make sure you have a fabulous time, bespoke room requests are welcomed - just use the hashtag #RockstarRider - and check out these previous requests for inspiration. We like the sound of the boyfriend upgrade - although I'm not sure that would be appropriate for a mini moon ;) We were kindly put up by The Esplanade Hotel (sister hotel to The Fistral Beach Hotel) last week, while having some building work done on our house. So while this is a sponsored post, of sorts, it's a genuine recommendation from me. I live very close by and can personally recommend the spa, food and cocktails!!! So, if you're looking for somewhere special in Cornwall to have your mini moon, go to The Fistral Beach Hotel.
