Inspiration

Sarah and George's wedding was a weekend long celebration at Chateau Rigaud, combining their ceremony and reception with a boozy family lunch and a big party for George's 30th birthday. What's not to love about making the celebrations as big as possible?! And if you can do it in such incredible surroundings, all the better!!! We feature lots of weekend-long nuptials here on RMW, but I must admit this is one of my favourites to date... It looks like a huge amount of fun and frivolity was had, and everyone looked gorgeous too. Sarah's wearing Hermione De Paula - the bridal designer of the moment whose bold floral designs are instantly recognisable. And just look at those HOT bridesmaids in mustard yellow? I'm absolutely loving this hue for the bridal party.

A Festival

Sarah The Bride: Our wedding weekend was more like a magical festival. It started with boozy lunch for our closest friends and family after our civil wedding on the Thursday, and lasted until the wee hours of Monday morning, following George's 30th birthday. Chateau Rigaud was an ideal venue for us; as a catered 'private house' it offered us the freedom to design our perfect event while having excellent chefs and helpful staff on site (the food was insanely good). The wedding day was awesome, but so was George's party, for which he had built an old school-style fun fair.

The Images & Film

Our photographers Jonny and Morgane were incredible. We knew right from when we met them in London that they'd be fun to have around on the day. We love the pictures that they took; they capture the spirit of the weekend perfectly. We had also had Super 8 Video done by Mark Brown, which is beautiful.

Our Wedding

Hermione de Paula designed my dress, and Charlie from Casely Hayford made George's suit. They are both excellent fashion designers, and we loved what they created. Our artwork (invitations, name cards, order of service) was all designed by artist Susannah Garrod, who is very talented and creative. We would really recommend using an artist over a stationer if you like a non-'weddingy' look and know what you want. The music was run by Leo Bedford, an awesome DJ and the manager of the equally epic Itchy Feet House Band. We had a seriously good party. Lucy, one of the bridesmaids and a soprano, sang at the church, which was wonderful.
