Sarah the Bride:
I wore a high waisted silk skirt, a simple cami with four buttons fastened down the back by Suzanne Neville
, paired with a beaded sheer bolero.
I chose this outfit, mainly because it’s a two piece and I felt the beaded top made it a bit more interesting. I really wanted something a bit more unusual and I love that this outfit was both classic and unusual! I wanted to show my shape in a really subtle way, which the two piece allowed for, as it showed a bit of waist!
As it was a more classic outfit than I’d initially planned, I wore Sophia Webster’s
Firebird shoes, I went with these crazy bright shoes to add a bit more colour!
Mark wore a dark navy single breasted suit
with a boot cut trouser. He had a bright single flower in his button hole. As a fashion designer, his suit again is totally classic, with every slight detail really thought about. With a flare to the trousers, there is a subtle hint of Mark’s character coming through. He went for simple and elegant which looked really great on the day.
The Olde Bell
in Hurley, Berkshire is the oldest Inn in England apparently. We hired the Malt House where we had our legal ceremony in The Oak Room, an oak panelled, marble floored room with our close family present. We then had a holistic ceremony in their Tithe Barn the following day with all our friends & family, followed by a good knees up in the Malt House and garden. We chose The Olde Bell because we loved the feel of the place. We loved how private the Malt House felt. It was just us and our loved ones, it felt so intimate. We planned for an outdoorsy, chilled vibe and that’s exactly what The Olde Bell gave us!
Colour Scheme / Decor
We worked with a wedding stylist, the Revival Rooms
to decorate the beautiful setting. We decided on a Moroccan theme, with wild flowers climbing the stairs, tucked in all the corners, falling out of the mini grand piano and tea light lanterns scattered throughout!
We had an old friend who is now a DJ spin the decks - Audiohead
. We have had SO many positive comments from our friends and families about the music. We danced the night away and laughed until we were dizzy. The music made the whole day complete.
The Olde bell supplied & catered the food which was a Moroccan themed barbecue, including fruity cous cous, lamb shanks and roulade. It was delicious!
Grace & Mitch from Grace Elizabeth Photo & Film
did our wedding photography - they were amazing. They were really lovely to have there, they were polite and charming. They felt a main part of the day and we are so happy we chose to go with them. Our photos are perfect, exactly what we asked for! Natural photos that have really captured the spirit of the day and of those we love.
