Inspiration

If there is one thing guaranteed to make me inhale it's stunning wedding photography and Jason Mark Harris has most definitely done himself proud at this traditional Jewish wedding at the Bellagio on Lake Como. The views are simply breathtaking. And placed beautifully amongst all the picturesque pretty are our gorgeous bride and groom Sasha & Asif. Sasha looks both elegant and fierce in her fishtail gown, and I love that she's teamed it with a beaded bolero to give it a different look for day and night. The rest of the wedding is just as sophisticated and planned to perfection by wedding planner Aurora from Lake Como Wedding and Events.

Venue

Sasha the Bride: Our wedding took place in private 19th century villa which was situated majestically on the lakeshore, surrounded by its own beautiful park. The villa had breathtaking view of the Lake Como and gorgeous mountains across the lake. The ceremony took place outdoors, followed by life music and appetisers. Then the reception took place indoors. We had lounge area set up outdoors by the lake with lanterns lighten up at dusk/night, this way our guests could enjoy the views, sunset, and relax. Inside the villa there was a beautiful chandelier hanging in the middle of the dinning area and dim lights were paired with candle lights on the walls and tables.

Colour Scheme/Decor

We aimed for an intimate, romantic, elegant feel. The colours were pastel/neuteral. We had round tables covered with Ecru linen tablecloth. The underplates were silver and matched the silver satin napkins. The plates were surrounded by Weinland crystal glasses. Each table had romantic centerpiece set up with flowers, high candles and tea candles on the mirror.

Flowers/Florist

Bouquets: Ivory Vendela Roses Centerpiece: Flowers Lithuanians, hydrangeas and freesias.

The Wedding Party Fashion

The bridal party: Maid of honor - brides cousin. She wore fitted, lavender dress with beautiful beaded colour. Groomsmen - grooms brother, wore dark grey suite with the Italian tie and pocket square made out of Como region silk. The flower girls and ring boy were the grooms niece and nephew.

Ceremony

We had a beautiful Jewish ceremony lead by the Rabbi who introduced us several years ago. It started with the private singing of the Kettubah (marriage contract), which took place in Gazebo on the lake. Our Kettubah was painted by an artist with symbolic images that had special meaning to us. The wedding took place under the Chuppa that was made by our family. Our Rabbi incorporated all the traditional elements of the Jewish wedding: like bride circling the groom, blessings over the wine, wrapping in tallit and breaking of the glass.

Entertainment

We had performance by an Italian band - Blunotte - following the ceremony, during the appetizer reception. The same band entertained after the dinner. During the dinner we had bossa nova and piano lounge music. Then DJ played through the night. The dancing went on until 2 a.m.

Food

Aperitif: Cocktail Mimosa ITALIAN RED Dolcetto d'Alba and WHITE WINE - Lugana ANTIPASTO: ParmigianoReggianosouffléwithasparagustips, bresaolettaandpachinotomatoe PRIMO: Risotto with zucchini flowers and slivers of salty ricotta SECONDO: Beef pave fillet with Sturzat reduction, violet chips potatoes and herbs pie Cake: 4 layers: Crema Al Gianduia - Chantilly and strawberry - Chantilly - cioccolato MIDNIGHT SNACK was a hit of the wedding, as everyone was getting hungry dancing through the night. We served: Parmigiano Reggiano cheese with walnuts and grapes, Buffalo mozzarella salad, Pizzette, Fruit skewers, mini hamburger, bruchette with tomato sauce, basil and olives.

Photographer and Videographer

Jason Mark Harris captured our wedding day in Bellagio, Lake Como. He was recommended to us by our wedding planner Aurora. We researched extensively into our options and stopped on Jason because of his style of photography. What we liked about Jason's work was that it was unique and different from other photographers. His shots have a romantic feel and he is able capture candid moments. Some photos and the background look surreal; the shots were able to capture the environment as well as the facial expressions and emotions of the people. We met Jason in person the day before the wedding; he was very nice and low key. He took the time to make us feel very comfortable and understand the most important moments to capture during the wedding. During the day of the wedding you don't even know that Jason is there, he makes himself invisible yet is able to capture all the key moments. When we got our photos back from the wedding, we absolutely LOVED his work. He captured the beauty of the surroundings, emotions, and moods. His photos were able to tell a story. We got many compliments on his work. We would highly recommend Jason to our family and friends. Jason along with his assistant Tim shot our wedding film also. Credit goes out to Sarah, Jason’s wife for the editing. So Thank you to Harris Films.

Our Planner

Also we would like to extend a special that you to our wedding planner Aurora from Lake Como Wedding and Events because without her help in the planning it would have been an impossible task from across the world. It would not be the same without Aurora who went above and beyond the scope of her job. She knows the area very well and has great relationships with the businesses in the area. We would highly recommend Aurora for your special event and could not be happier with her services.
