Inspiration

A Shustoke Barn wedding always brings us joy here at Rock My Wedding, and Jade and Dave's Summer wedding day is no exception. Positively brimming with amazing wedding ideas and decor, including a cookie bar, and a 'find your face to find your place' polaroid picture table plan DIY'd by the bride herself. Plus absolutely stunning wedding party attire that may make you reconsider your own choices. Enjoy lovely ones, I certainly did!

What Made Your Day Unique

We really wanted our day to be filled with personal touches so that way it would be really unique to us. A very talented friend hand-painted our wedding stationery designs from scratch, the cake was made by my Nan and Dave wrote our personal ceremony reading. Another friend created hand-painted signs with lyrics from one of our wedding songs and I also made a lot of DIY decorations myself, including our table plan which was an upcycled vintage frame with polaroids of all our guests! Our whole day was perfect and we couldn't have asked for more. From our sunset wedding photos in the fields by Grace & Mitch to the incredible heartfelt speeches by my Dad, Dave and his Best Man, which at one point also included an unexpected game of Mr & Mrs! The reception was set to the soundtrack of The Good Habits Band who had us dancing all night long in between toasting marshmallows and visiting the photo-booth and the cookie wall. The night ended with our shoes off, singing our hearts out.. the perfect end to the perfect day.

Shustoke Barn Wedding

This beautiful Shustoke Barn wedding venue with its relaxed and rustic feel was exactly what Jade and Dave were looking for to host their big day. From the beautiful oak doors to the courtyard and the incredible vaulted ceilings, they knew this incredible space would create the exact atmosphere they were hoping for. They kept their wedding decor simple choosing foliage to accent the wonderful features of the venue and allowing them to speak for themselves. Jade also made a lot of the decorations herself, including spray painting gin bottles to use as centrepieces and creating a fabulous DIY polaroid frame table plan.

Planning A Wedding

You can never start planning too early - it will seem like you have loads of time but trust me when I say that it will come around quicker than you can imagine! Be true to what you both want for the day. It can be very easy to get swept up listening to other people's opinions or jumping on different wedding trends, but you'll only have this one day and it's got to be what you really want. We did A LOT of research! I spent ridiculous hours on Instagram and Pinterest, attended multiple wedding fairs and of course I trawled through the Rock My Wedding directory, The List!

{Watch The Film}
Jade found choosing her wedding dress was a very long process, trying on over 60 dresses and visiting up to 8 bridal shops. Just before she lost hope, she visited RMW recommended supplier, Tilly Trotter's bridal boutique in Leamington Spa. They had a stunning selection of gowns including her dream bridal outfit, which consisted of a Charlie Brear Carenne dress with Corette lace overdress. She paired her dress with the most delicate silk tulle veil, gold hair vine, a vintage-style Emmy London belt and a pair of silver Jimmy Choo's. Together she was a vision of beauty. If you need help completing your bridal look, search our directory to see which suppliers can help you find 'the one.'
