Smile for Shoot Boutique…

We love a photo booth here at Rock My Wedding, so much so in fact that we’ve shown you how to DIY them, create props for them and even hire passport style booths. However, when this little beauty dropped into my inbox I was rather taken with the super styling… how very Rock My Wedding chic!

Rick from Rick Schofield Photography is the genius behind the design and he’s here to tell you all about it.

Appropriately enough, the idea for Shoot Boutique came at a wedding; That of the husband and wife team who run it, Rick and Laverne Schofield. Rick is a studio photographer and Laverne a theatre nurse. Being in the picture taking trade but out of control of the shots on his own big day gave Rick the idea of putting more power in the hands of the people who matter; The bride and groom and their guests.

Laverne was the creative force behind the idea of a boutique, which would be so much more than a simple photo booth. Thinking as a bride, she wanted a space for full length pictures and for a variety of poses to be possible. Rick’s technical know-how and the help of his new in-laws soon had a prototype constructed which proved that the resulting pictures had the range and quality lacking in the current choice of booths.

Through the crafting of the boutique came the idea to have different backgrounds and furniture options as well as offering fully bespoke designs. Never far from Rick and Laverne’s minds was their own wedding experience and this helped shaped the business into something easily included in wedding planning and that offers a unique experience.

Based in Manchester, Shoot Boutique can be hired across the UK and anyone interested in discussing how Shoot Boutique can add an extra dimension to their wedding day is encouraged to get in touch.

I’m so excited about these guys – they’ve totally blown the photo booth concept out of the box with the stylish modern backdrops and rustic flooring; Don’t even get me started on the furniture… Dealing with Rick has been a pleasure too and I always think a recently married couple is a strong selling point for a wedding professional – after all they know exactly what you want for your day. I don’t think you could go far wrong with a photo booth like this from such a switched on couple too.

Say Cheese!

Yours Truly,

  1. Agree, takes it to the next level and it would be pretty easy to DIY with some MDF and wallpaper. Same as the one in DIY devotee but without the face hole!

And if you had the budget, it’s not unreasonable anyway.

  2. Oh no, I have seen so many things I want these last few weeks on RMW and I just don’t think my budget can take it!

If we had one of these you would never get me out of it 🙂

  3. Hearnea, nothing is impossible with a bit of Pritt Stick and some glitter (c) Blue Peter.

MDF can be bought in B & Q for £6. Whack on some wallpaper (or paint – 99p for a small pot) and Voila.

B & Q will also cut your wood to size. I have some old apple seed trays I got from a garden centre tip (classy) to use for our escort cards/something else crafty and wedding-esque and I just got B & Q to reinforce the bottom to make them more watertight for the flowers. Whole thing cost me about £3.

  4. Yup, we’ve got our DIY version, stolen from the lovely Charlotte’s wedding pics.

Though I never thought of DIY’ing a back drop. Winner.
    Thanks for that 🙂
