Sophie & Fabz

Bringing a gorgeous splash of colour to proceedings today are the lovely Sophie & Fabz, whose wedding day is just brimming with vibrant outfits, flowers and details. Sophie looks incredible in a bespoke embroidered gown by Alida Herbst, which is probably one of the most unusual gowns I've ever seen. Floral patterns on white seem to be everywhere at the moment, so Sophie is clearly a trend setter ;) The pair decided to marry at South Farm and they were lucky enough that the weather held for their outdoor ceremony. It's such a pretty space and looks amazing in the photographs from Eleanor Howarth. Enjoy this pretty wedding - and make sure you relish the party photos! The Dress

Sophie the Bride: After doing lots of research I met Alida Herbst who had previous collections on her website that I had a look through. She then had the dress that I ended up picking for one of her collections, once I decided to go with this one I started going to her studio for measurements as she made it from scratch. Alida is so easy going, relaxed and experienced in what she is doing so gave great advice on what shape would fit and where tweaks needed to be made. Up until 2 weeks before we were making tweaks to make it absolutely perfect which it ended up being.

The Venue

We found South Farm just through doing lots of research. Our dream was to get married outside so it was hard finding somewhere which was licensed to get married outside plus doing the reception.

The Decor

The colour scheme was borrowed from the dress which had lots of colours in it. Flowers were all done by my mother Zoe Bulkeley who runs My Flowers. She did all of the flowers inside and outside of the venue. We hired some wardrobe doors in the hope that we could have the wedding outside which we were lucky enough to. These were put at the end of the aisle to walk through for everyone to get to their seats and where covered by flowers which really put our own style on the wedding.

The Ceremony

Our dream was to have our ceremony outside, so when the sun was shining that morning everything was perfect. Also as we didn’t have a religious ceremony it was nice to have a reading from my 2 sisters about us as a couple and getting to the point of being married which felt really personal.

The Entertainment

A last minute choice was for us to have a live duo whilst we walked down the aisle and during drinks and canapes after the ceremony. It was the best last minute decision we made, they were amazing and we selected all the songs that we wanted to be play. They are called Bird and the Badman, a female singing and male on guitar. After the dinner and speeches we had Indian dancers, as my husband is Indian this was a great way to bring the Indian feel into more of an English wedding. It was great to get all the guests up and dancing and they did a girls vs boys dance which got everyone involved. Our DJ’s afterwards were our friends.

The Food

The food was supplied by our venue South Farm, it was fabulous food and most of the food is grown/sourced on their onsite farm or locally. We had canapes after the reception which is definitely needed otherwise people are starving by the time they eat. For mains we had a Thai feast which was great and we did the speeches during the meals so that the nervous speech makers could enjoy their meals!!!!

The Photography

Our photographer Ellie Howarth, who is an incredible photographer and takes really great natural pictures. We weren’t keen on having lots of posed pictures we just wanted loads throughout the day which worked well for us. When we got them back we were so thrilled the images and colours in the pictures captured how the day felt perfectly.
