What Made Our Day Unique

The venue played a massive part in making our day unique. In truth, it was the only venue we visited as we knew it was right for us. Coed Hills is a circular barn that was built by a group of artists and is set within the beautiful Welsh countryside of the Vale Of Glamorgan. Coed Hills is very relaxed and as such, they have very little in the way of limitations in terms of how you plan your day. They allowed us to have full access to the venue on the Friday before the wedding to decorate and style exactly how we wanted to. Because of this, we were able to completely plan every detail of the wedding without restriction allowing it to truly feel like it was our unique day.

Cath & Anna

South Wales Wedding Photographer

One of Cath and Anna's favourite moments of their wedding day was going off with South Wales wedding photographer, Eleanor Jane for couples portraits in and around the wedding venues surrounding forest. It was the perfect time to reflect on being pronounced wife and wife, as well as capture lasting memories.

Inspiration & Styling

We picked Coed because of its setting and laid back relaxed atmosphere, and we really wanted this to come across throughout the day. The weather was gorgeous which meant that our guests could spend a lot of time outside in the beautiful grounds of the venue. We both work in the creative industry so the design of the wedding started life as any of our projects would, with a colour palette and mood board that we both picked and based everything else around. It helped to check everything went well together on the mood board before we spent any money. If we had to try and describe a style for the wedding I guess you could say rustic boho.

Diy

We created a lot ourselves, such as the doughnut wall, the table plan which was an old frame we bought at a charity shop for £3 and used a wood stain on. Cath spent a day in the kitchen baking, icing and decorating our incredible cake. Overall, our friends and family made the whole day as special as it was. The day before the wedding, we had about 30 family and friends roped in to hang drapes, dress tables, forage for ivy, cleaning, hanging ribbons and it was a huge team effort. These moments are the times we look back on and really appreciate.
