When it comes to marquee and tent weddings, PapaKata’s wealth of knowledge and experience is second to none. If you’re certain that you’d like a marquee or a tent, but aren’t sure whether to opt for a gorgeous airy Sperry Tent, or a cosy, atmospheric Teepee, then you definitely need to read on. We’re sharing the images from PapaKata’s recent Spring open day so you can see how different these structures can look and how beautifully they can be styled…
Natalie Hewitt The Stylist: PapaKåta hosted their Spring Open Weekend back in March to showcase their beautiful Teepees and Sperry Tents in the idyllic surroundings of Escrick Park, York. Captured by the amazing Dominic Wright Photography, the “Romantic Meadow” inspiration came to life by an incredible team of suppliers – each putting their own interpretation to the concept to complement the setting of the distinctive tents.
The Sperry Tent
The whimsical floral displays by Leafy Couture in the Sperry Tent oozed elegance and sophistication, a perfect reflection of the iconic Sperry vibe. The “Romantic Meadow” styling brought the outside in! With floral installations creating the most incredible alternative world; with cascading meadows running down the farmhouse tables, a floral beam overhead and a hanging two-tier hoop suspended above the round oak bar. A floral on trend circular moon gate took centre stage and provided the most beautiful photo booth backdrop, completed by Booth Revolution’s vintage camera.
Key styling elements used in the colour palette such as the menu name cards by I Am Nat and purple napkins by Silk & Purl, created incredible pops of colour and great focal points. Wedding planner and designer, Natalie Hewitt hand-picked a selection of crockery and glassware from Whitehouse Event Crockery, showcasing a collection of complementary glassware from different ranges, to provide additional detailing and texture. Hand tied napkins placed on textured white crockery finished off the table-scape to create an elegant and timeless look.
The Teepee came to life with Rose & Spade’s rustic interpretation of “Romantic Meadows”, with an incredible installation hanging from PapaKåta’s Wooden Swing above the top table and dramatic creeping foliage up the Circular Oak Bar and Teepee entrance poles! Creating a natural, organic and earthy feel against the warm tones of the Teepee canopy. The Barn Bakery created the most incredible dessert table in the centre of the Teepee – a big trend for evening food. Silk & Purl provided earthy pink napkins and Rose Press created simplistic but luxury name tags and vellum menus. Again, Natalie Hewitt hand-picked a selection of crockery and glassware from Whitehouse Event Crockery and used the most elegant tapered candles with glass candlesticks, resulting in a high-end table scape. The earthy tones in textural asymmetrical styling and organic arrangements cascading from the floral hoops and wooden Teepee poles created a luxurious bohemian feel.
Blakefields Event Caterers and The Yorkshire Bartender were on hand to ensure that tummies and taste buds were satisfied with seasonal food and some of the most show-stopping bespoke cocktails; personalised for the event by Yorkshire Bartender Founder and Creative Director Callum. Meanwhile, super-cool DJ Upside your Mind provided soulful tunes to set the scene and get visitors in the mood whilst planning their own big day, whilst they read our Papakata Newspaper, printed by The Newspaper Club and kept warm with The Brolly Buckets blankets.
