Inspiration

I adore springtime. All those new beginnings mean the sentimentalist in me thinks it is the perfect time for a wedding. The flowers and prettiest pastel shades that abound are some of my favourites and those warmer days bring endless opportunities. Here at Rock My Wedding we are lucky to work with some of the best suppliers in the industry. Those that are guaranteed to bring you the most amazing day ever and today they are sharing their top tips for the perfect spring wedding.
PLANNING
"Unpredictable weather is a given, so make savvy choices to keep your guests warm: choose a venue with a cosy indoor back-up plan; think covered shoulders and wedges for your bridesmaids, to overcome plummeting temperatures and wet lawns; install a Hendrick’s Hot Gin Punch station after dark, as a spring twist on the classic hot toddy. Most importantly, send out your invitations early, so the busy Easter Holidays don’t turn your RSVPs from yes to no." Potcakes
DECOR
"Spring is a seriously beautiful time for an English wedding. The weather is starting to change, the blooms are simply incredible and there is such a sense of new beginnings, positivity and hope in the air. It is the perfect season for an outdoor celebration (although, this is Britain and Plan B has to be in place!) and focusing the styling and decor of your day around what nature is bringing to the party. Depending on the location and backdrop to your Spring wedding, focus on beautiful blooming gardens, spring lawns and wild flowers and add complimentary details and florals to enhance what is already there (which can also help to make the decor and styling budget stretch a little bit further) Whatever your concept and vision for your day, flowers are available in abundance to suit every styling from delicate ranunculus and English roses for a seriously elegant garden wedding to wild, unstructured greenery and herbs for a chic, high-style and relaxed vibe to your day. Include the food and drinks as part of your decor with infused ice-cubes, edible flowers and beautifully styled cocktails or a drinks station. These little touches go a long way in the style stakes. When it comes to your Bridal look, an English Spring wedding is the perfect opportunity to go for chic Bridal separates and include a beautiful and delicate cashmere sweater, so you are ready whatever the English weather brings." STATIONERY
"If you’re getting married in Spring, chances are you’ve already thought about colours, flowers and details. What better way to carry on a Spring theme than with your stationery. There are so many beautiful things about Spring and they can all be incorporated into your paper pretties." Swoon At The Moon
ACCESSORIES
"Spring's all about coming into bloom, and romantic floral hair accessories, like delicate hair vines or pretty pins with petals are utterly perfect for this season! This blossom vine is gorgeous with a soft chignon. Of course, we all cross our fingers for glorious sunshine for our spring big day, but it's certainly not unusual to see April showers too. Leather shoes (like these metallic champagne lace-up peep-toes) make a more practical choice for those outdoor photos. Give them a quick wipe after your wedding, and your cherished heels will be ready to wear again. Finally, how about having a feather cover-up to add a touch of warmth and style to your spring wedding outfit?" Liberty In Love
FOOD
"Spring is a wonderful time of the year, bringing us the promise of longer, warmer days and an abundance of fabulous produce. My ideal menu to showcase the season at it's best would be: Starter: Red snapper and mango ceviche Main: Pistachio crusted lamb rack, potato rosti, asparagus spears with a shallot and red wine sauce. Dessert: Trio of Rhubarb - rhubarb and elderflower fool, rhubarb and custard tart, rhubarb pavlova with ginger syrup" Seasons Catering
