Inspiration

John and Niamh had a stretch tent wedding ceremony and marquee reception at Roscarrock Farm filled with true Cornish / Irish rustic details. They DIYed bunting made of fabric, shells and driftwood. Plus, they made wooden pallet signs and included flower pots everywhere as Niamh runs her own nursery. Their ceremony was conducted by their friend and featured a very special sand ceremony where they invited their mums to mix sands from their shores (Cornwall and Sligo) in a glass bowl. There was also a sea shanty group entertaining guests during the drinks reception and a brass band to get everyone onto the dance floor. With so many more personal touches and special moments captured by Alexa Poppe Photography, it's not to be missed!

What Made Our Day Unique

The location and having so much of the day created by friends which made it so personal for us. The farm with its stunning views over the north Cornish coast made us decide to have the ceremony in one of the farm's walled gardens with the sea as a backdrop. A friend decorated the venue and made all the stunning bunting and shell decorations, she even tie-dyed some of the buntings. She thought about every little detail. Another friend created our beautiful wedding cake and even the ceremony was held by one of John's dearest University friends ( we did the formal part a few months before at a registry office). Just having all our friends and family helping to create this beautiful day with so much personal thought going into it and spending a whole weekend with them.

Stretch Tent Wedding

Trying to organise a DIY wedding is no mean task. But with the help of family and friends, Niamh and John managed to pull it off beautifully. They chose the gorgeous Cornish coastal venue Roscarrock Farm as their location and had a heartfelt stretch tent wedding ceremony and marquee reception. Niamh wore an incredible pre-loved Rime Aroday wedding dress with gorgeous lace detailing and wore her hair in a side ponytail, absolutely perfect for their laid back, personal day.

Inspiration & Styling

We are both laid back and didn't want the day to be too formal. We wanted the day to be about chilling out and relaxing with our friends and family. We chose the venue because it fit in with that vibe with its walled gardens and cosy feel it felt perfect for a day like this. We planned the rest of our wedding day around a rustic wedding theme reflecting our two homes in details - Cornwall and Ireland. For the inside of the marquee, we chose a garden theme as Niamh owns a nursery near St Agnes. We left the tables quite rustic, to the Woodfired Canteen's style.

Niamh & John

One of Niamh and Johns favourite moments was when the band started playing and seeing all their guests having so much fun on the dance floor! If you need some help planning your wedding entertainment, Charlotte and Becky have dedicated a whole Podcast episode to all the choices available. We also recommend searching our, handpicked supplier directory, for lots of entertainers in your area.
