Summer & Robin: A Month To Go

This month it all feels really really real. I’m getting married next month, yikes. As I write this our handcrafted wedding rings all the way from New York are out for delivery just a few miles away! The people over at Bittersweets NY are the loveliest and we have been so happy with our decision to reorder from them (my engagement ring is one of theirs too), I can’t recomend them enough. I still love my engagement ring today just as much as the day I said yes. The best thing about having a tiny ring is that I never have to take it off, it never gets in the way and it is so simplistically beautiful. It will always go with any outfit in any situation for ever and ever. Basically I love it and cannot WAIT for the postman to arrive today.

Our house is slowly filling up with boxes. From drinks dispensers and Little Cherry table wear to a mountain of beer bottles. Next week we are planning to do a huge drinks shop, if you are reading this lovely Tesco delivery lady who we see every week – I’m sorry in advance for the ridiculously large and heavy order you will have to deliver next week. I don’t quite know what we are going to do with it all. I know we don’t really need to buy it all until the last minute but I’d rather just get it bought and put away and tick another job off of my list.

I’ve also been obsessing over seating plans. I think I’ve almost cracked it (it would be a whole lot easier it there weren’t still three or four people who need to RSVP). Is any body else an obsessive list maker? The seating plan has taken list making to a whole new level.

Of all the spur of the moment purchases I have made for the wedding my favourite are the ten bags of giant marshmallows I bought from the American museum last week. They will be perfect for toasting on the bonfire in the evening. They are the biggest marshmallows I’ve ever seen (apple sized).

I finally bought some control underwear. I went for a nude slip from Marks and Spencer which I actually really like. Although I probably look like I have a sausage body with it on, I feel like Britney Spears in a sexy redneck underwear as outerwear kind of a way. You probably don’t have a clue what I’m on about but it’s a good thing.

My beautiful friend Emily is going to make us a special wedding cake for us to cut as well as our cake table. She works as part of Shiny Rubbie People that are based in Bath. We decided quite early on not to have a cake because we wanted to spend the money on other things, so when Emily asked me if we wanted her to make us a special cake to cut as well as our dessert table I instantly said yes. I delved for the first time into the depths of pinterest wedding cake boards. There is so much out there and I felt completely overwhelmed. I pretty much loved all of them, we eventually decided on a silver birch bark design with our initials carved into the cake. We still haven’t decided on the flavour of the cake. I’m thinking chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream frosting…but I’m not sure yet. I can’t wait to see in finished.

I still haven’t decided on my perfect red lipstick, the search continues although at this point I’ve seen so many that I like but I don’t want to commit to because my search has been going on too long. I really like a matt Chanel red and also a Dior red. I’m probably going to go for one of those with a lip stain underneath. The Body Shop’s red lip stain has super staying powers and doesn’t dry my lips out too much but it just isn’t quite special enough. I’ve worn it a couple of times in the last two weeks and it is lovely though.

Only one post left, I can’t believe it!
