Inspiration

We're hoping this sunflower wedding brings a break in the cloud so we can have a rest from all this rain and rejoice in this glorious festival celebration on the brides parents farm. There's bunting, flags, smoke bombs and glitter stations, plus an explosion of colour and love, it really is an uplifting way to start off your week.

What Made Our Day Unique

Having it at Phoebe's parent's farm meant we could go wild with the decorations and Stu built a huge P & S out of wood to sit outside the marquee, a big red heart to sit on a boat in the pond surrounded by fairy lights and a shimmering wall with sequins to go above our glitter station! The whole day was so personal and relaxed. The sunflower hoop by The Country Garden Flower Company was probably the star of the show, it was a great focal point for the ceremony and photographs and everyone else used it as a backdrop for their photos too. As soon as Patrick (florist) mentioned it to us we knew we had to have it! And of course, Jupiter Ray had everyone dancing all night long - we didn't even take a break!

Sunflower Wedding

Sunflowers have been giving people joy since you were first handed a seed in a plastic cup at school and asked to grow and nurture it at home. They symbolize adoration, loyalty and longevity which is everything a couple hopes for when they say I do. So with that in mind, we think every wedding should be a sunflower wedding!

Inspiration & Styling

We got engaged at Secret Garden Party festival so wanted to bring those vibes to our wedding and just have a great big party! Which is exactly what happened, people camped and everyone got involved at the glitter station and danced the night away! We also took a lot of inspiration from Pinterest, and RMW! Everything we had at our wedding really meant something to us. We did a lot ourselves with the help of friends and family. The DIY projects Stu did were based around our SGP theme, our food was Pinxtos which is a type of tapas from a trip we'd taken together to San Sebastian, we had a gin bar (Phoebe's favourite) and Adnams ale (Stu's favourite and local to us) and the blankets on the hay bales were from a trip Phoebe and her mum took to Marrakech just before the wedding. Having uncle Mickey officiate the service was also a lovely personal touch and he wrote a fantastic and very funny service for us and our guests.
