One of the things we get asked time and time again here at RMW HQ is how to save money on your wedding day and luckily for you lovely lot, the whole RMLtd team has picked up lots of tricks and tips over the years. I’m going to be honest with you here – getting married is going to cost you some money. You can’t throw a party for your friends and family, wear a beautiful dress and shoes, have pretty flowers and expect it to be free. I know, life is tough hey 😉 BUT there are things that you can do to keep a lid on your budget and still have a beautiful wedding day…
The emotion of this city wedding really shines through all the pictures captured by David Jenkins Photography. Everybody is full of smiles and having a good time, non more so than our gorgeous bride and groom Goldie & Rick.
Rick’s face literally says it all the moment Goldie enters The Asylum ceremony in her breathtaking lace Inbal Dror gown, there is no denying how absolutely jaw dropping-ly beautiful she looks, plus her face equally lights up as they say their vows at the iconic and atmospheric altar filled with church candles.
Please get yourselves a hot cuppa and settle down somewhere comfortable for this one, as it’s such a gorgeous, heartfelt wedding day that you’ll really want to savour it. Esha and Thom’s write up left me beaming from ear to ear, it truly is one of the loveliest reports from a couple I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. The pair’s village hall wedding was all about doing things their way and it’s just a joy to behold. I’m not going to give away too many spoilers, but make sure you look out for Esha’s pitstop at her Grandma’s house before the ceremony, Thom’s wild entrance and the couple’s clever ways of making their ceremony completely unique.
I don’t think there could be a more suitable person to have captured it either, Alline from Beatrici Photography and Esha and Thom go together like gin and tonic. It’s such a gorgeous day everyone, enjoy!
For me Abby and Olly’s whole wedding is perfect. I couldn’t love their approach to their big day anymore – the couple funded their wedding themselves and found lots of clever ways to make sure that staying in line with their budget, while still putting on a stylish and fun wedding day. And Abby still got to wear two dresses and two pairs of shoes…I think she should start a new career as a bargain hunter for brides 😉
Saving money elsewhere meant that Abby & Olly could have the wonderful Jon at S6 Photography and Laura & Alan This Modern Revelry film their big day. And OMG I’m SO glad they did. The whole party has been captured beautifully and the film just brings the whole day to life. Be prepared to have a little cry and a little boogie all in the space of a few minutes…
It’s been a while since we shared a truly home spun, village hall wedding with you all and this one fits the bill perfectly. Amanda and Sam stuck to a budget of £5000 for their wedding day and pulled off the sweetest, most fun of occasions. I absolutely love the thoughtful details – second hand books specially chosen for each guest as a favour, flags to represent their British and American backgrounds, playlists with choices from the entire wedding party…
The whole day looks like a traditional village fete which just warms the soul. Throw in a piñata and some classic American drinking games with the obligatory red cups and you’ve got yourself the perfect wedding celebration.
The one thing we never recommend saving on though, is the photographer. Amanda and Sam entrusted Neil Jackson with the job of capturing their wedding, appointing a lot of their budget to the images. Definitely a wise choice – these gorgeous images will last them a lifetime.
This has to be one of the sweetest weddings I’ve ever seen. A bold statement I know, but there is an undeniable sentiment that just oozes out of this intimate wedding captured by Bai & Elle Wedding Photography that you can’t deny.
Laura’s love for the book The Secret Garden lead to the gorgeous venue in Kent and also became the theme for their day. A whimsical outdoor ceremony and conservatory setting full of DIY decor, collected trinkets, wild flower arrangements, and a delicious looking afternoon tea wedding breakfast.
And possibly the most shocking considering its beauty is this gorgeous wedding cost less than £5000!
At RMW, we are ALL about helping you to create the wedding of your dreams, whatever your budget may be. There will be people reading this post who don’t want to buy anything from the high street for their wedding day and that’s absolutely fine. If you want to invest in gorgeous flowers, a beautiful cake, an amazing stylist or stunning photography then that should be your first port of call).
There will also be people reading who want their big day to be beautiful but just don’t want to go bespoke due to the cost. And then there will be people reading who want to spend their budget on certain items – like the dress and flowers for example – but are looking to save money elsewhere.
Hopefully this post can help. We’ve rounded up our favourite places on the high street to find items that will help to make your big day look beautiful…
Natalie and Martin’s rustic, sunshine filled day is proof that you don’t need to spend a fortune to have a beautiful wedding. With a little bit of careful planning, saving and compromise, you can create the day of your dreams without causing yourselves unnecessary stress. Natalie sounds like a lady with her head firmly screwed on and it’s clear that the most important thing to her was just to marry Martin.
The pair were lucky with the weather and had the most incredible blue skies and sunshine, making their venue, Ridge Farm, look even more beautiful. There’s a lot of gorgeous lace action going on, with Natalie’s Lusan Mandongus dress and those stunning cornflower blue Bridesmaids dresses – a total bargain from Kailko at House of Fraser.
We hope you enjoy this relaxed, rustic but oh-so-happy big day!
This morning’s lovely wedding really warms the heart because it was such a team effort from family and friends – almost every element was borrowed or crafted, which meant that Hannah and Dan’s wedding had an understated and laid back vibe – but it was still ever so beautiful! The gorgeous rustic floral arrangements were created by one of the couples friends, which meant that Hannah got to enjoy trips to the flower market and could be involved every step of the way. And the couple gave guests home made honey as favours, what a delicious treat.
Hannah’s gown was a great find in Monsoon, whose gorgeous Bridal collection you can see right here on Rock My Wedding. A fabulous option for those who don’t want to fork out thousands of pounds on a dress, but still want unusual design, stunning details and craftmanship you can trust – I mean just look at Hannah’s dress…it’s one of the loveliest I’ve ever seen and suits her down to the ground.
