The Organic Bridal Collection From Claire L. Headdon

When it comes to sourcing items for your wedding day, it feels like more and more people are conscious of where things actually come from. Opting for local suppliers, serving locally sourced food, using seasonal flowers – these are all things we can do to help ensure our wedding day celebrations deliver a smaller carbon footprint.

But what about the dress? Well if you’re looking for someone who can deliver on the environmental credentials, then look no further than Claire L. Headdon. And not only are her dresses pleasingly sourced and made from fair trade silks, but they are beautiful too. There’s absolutely zero compromise on style, in fact it’s the opposite. These dresses are some of the most elegant and chic bridal gowns I’ve seen. Here’s a peak at the collection, enjoy lovelies!

Quality Over Quantity {Having An Eco-Conscious Wedding}

The demand for eco friendly products has already started to gain momentum in the beauty and fashion worlds, with lots of big brands having conscious collections and cruelty-free fast becoming the norm. So it was only a matter of time before the wedding world reacted to this too. As always, our readers are ahead of the curve and often chose to use local suppliers and opt for eco friendly ways of hosting their big days. In fact, the lady behind this shoot had her wedding featured right here on RMW. But, understandably, when you want to create a day that is visually stunning it can be hard to work out a way of doing this while still respecting the environment.

It’s all about quality over quantity and as this gorgeous shoot from Lotus Floral Art will show you, it’s about taking your time to find suppliers and source products from the right places. Along with the gorgeous images, there’s also lots of tips for having an eco friendly wedding…

Katy & Simon

This afternoon’s couple, Katy and Simon went to great lengths to reduce the environmental impact of their wedding whilst still ensuring that it looked and felt opulent. Katy chose to have her bridal gown made in the UK so that she could absolutely guarantee the source of the labour involved, the groom and groomsmen wore reused Harris Tweed waistcoats from one of the best men’s weddings. The gorgeous flowers by JW Blooms came from a local, organic flower field and all of the food was organic and local (where possible), with vegan options too.

Katy even walked to their venue, The Holburne Museum, which is fairly new to hosting weddings, but not being religious, or wanting a formal country estate wedding, the Holburne was perfect for the couple.

It’s a stunning building, with lots of different styles of architecture and their photographer, Michelle Wood, has captured the venue just as beautifully as she has the couple and their wedding. That image under the lanterns is just so romantic!
